I was skimming on Rikudou's page today, and saw an announcement for a new series in the december issue of Ultra Jump, Mobius Gear, that he's apparently collaborating on with Inoue Toshiki.

From Ultra Jump's site:

A true genius does not need boundaries such as 'common sense'

It seems that Rikudou is only drawing, the actual story is by Inoue Toshiki (a filmwriter famous for working on various animes and the Kamen Rider live action series)

I've been curious about this new title since first learning about it on Rikdou's site.

Anyone have a basic idea of what it's about?

Arrrgh MegaUpload keeps telling me my limit is exceeded and to wait 7 minutes. I waited hour after hour and it still gives me the same message.

There's an English translation for it slowly in the works. So far it's... interesting. As expected, the art is fucking awesome, but it's not particularly well written and the excessive amounts of nudity/fanservice/sex and graphic brutal violence really cheapen the experience. There are also absolutely no likable characters.

Lord Il

Okay, well, I just read the 1st chapter. At first I was like.. What is this?? In other words, very difficult to get into. Character development wasn't really great. And as Foggle pointed out, the characters aren't the most likable either. For me, things started to gel (somewhat) about 3/4 of the way in. The moments of fanservice seemed too gratuitous to make sense of why they're even included..

But Rikdou's art is good! Just not too keen on the writing yet.

I don't know. Perhaps I'm judging this too sharply so far? Anyone else feel different about it?
I'll continue reading to see if my opinion changes.

Thanks for the link Foggle! ^^

Uncreativity

I'm pretty much with you guys. The art's the only worthwhile feature.

I was impressed with how well Rikdo can draw gore, though.

Chapters 2 and 3 were much better than the first, though they're still not all that great, IMO. At least they seemed to actually have a point to them and I could understand what was going on.

Chapter 4's scanlation is out. I'm considering dropping this series since the writer... isn't too good at writing.

At least the art is nice. Rikudou is very talented, and it's cool seeing him try his hand at something more serious.
