Manga Drought

The manga industry is basically just like Hollywood right now. With a dearth of original ideas it's all about rehash, rehash, rehash. Take the same idea, slap on a new coat of paint, alter some characters slightly, and off it goes. Ditto for anime. And general literature by and large. Finding something truly original that is also GOOD and not some pretentious bit of flotsom is very hard anymore. I wonder if we've hit a creative plateau as a species sometimes.
