Attention, all! Pample returns from the land of vaguely mainstream counter-culture and has stories!
I forget how awkward(ly amusing) cons can be-- and I forget how many teens go. Makes me feel
oooold... but strangely thankful. That's a rough age, I guess...
So.
The Nabeshin outfit I put together for a friend was a huge hit! I think nearly every time we were in the hall, someone screamed "Nabashiiiiiin!". For only four dollars for the clothes, it went over quite well.
I said the phrase "And now it's time to Naba-leave!" so much. And the afro song. I heard a hilarious story about The Director himself too.
AND we ran into another Nabeshin!!
AND...
Someone recognized my Miwa costume!
:O!
I was on the phone and a friend heard someone point out my character, so I didn't get to congratulate them.
The Excel Saga manga seemed to be selling pretty well. The manga vendor had 1-17, I believe (excluding 7 and 8 and a few others, though I did ask hopefully
)
I went back earlier today before I left and nearly nearly all of them were gone except for a few of the middle volumes!
Last bit: The Hyatt costume is cursed, guys. Not only did it fail me so many times that I couldn't wear it as my primary costume, but I put it on for debauchery times and... well, the idea of being Hyatt is no longer so novel.
Pictures to come later in my thread (though not of the aforementioned Hyatt costume).
Anyhow, love the Halloween chattiness!
Il, that decorated house was so amusingly over-the-top.
Crow, your costume is utterly amazing! Love it so much!
It saddened me that I missed trick or treat completely. I missed my niece and nephew menacing people for candy for the first time...
Now for clearance candy and costume scavenging!
