Sports!
« on: April 19, 2009, 11:50:10 AM »
So about 6 or 7 months ago, I took up capoeira which is proving to be pretty awesome with the added benefit of making me crazily fitter than before and meeting some pretty awesome people while I'm at it. My question to you then is do you do any sports? How did you get into it etc etc?
For the last, time, it's a panda...

I know a couple guys who are taking/have taken capoeira at my school... pretty crazy stuff.

I'm not heavily into sports relaly, but I enjoy playing things like frisbee and tennis every now and then.

I dunno if skating counts, i guess it depends on how often you do it... Same with riding bikes etc...

Personally i don't like sports... I do go to Karate though, Ashihara Karate to be precise, it's good fun... Not over deciplined giga-serious army stuff like shown on TV... I do it mostly to get in better shape, because i normally just sit at home and stuff myself with candy... :o

Same here.
I used to go down to a local skating rink to the public skate every Saturday night. Good exercise. Interestingly enough, it can be a good place to meet old high school flames. They all seem to be married though, damn it. :il_hahaha:

I've played a bit of baseball and hockey here and there. Never played 'em too seriously.

skateboarding is more my thing

and my old high school flames, only 2 of them are married, several of them are engaged, however im used to my ex's getting engaged once a week and all of them breaking up, so i wouldnt take that too seriously.

it seems hot girls love getting engaged just for the attention unless they enjoy wasting time

Ah yes, bicycling. I like biking around town, it's great. Saves gas and makes me feel like I'm doing something active.

Biking is awesome in summertime, i loathe it when it gets cold though, especially when it's rainy and windy...
If the weather is right though, i love making long trips on my bike...

In my case i wouldn't call it a sport though, not even an activity, since i only do it in summer time and when i have an unusual urge to not sit here and slack... (not counting every single day, when i drive on it to school)

I used to go biking all the time before getting my car made me lazy. ^^;;

But when I look back at all the biking I used to do, I honestly think I developed a "runners high" from it. It can be addicting. It's as though you have a need to get the bike out daily and go on a long trek. Makes a person feel great at the end of the day. Used to sleep better too...

heh.. Maybe I should get the tires pumped up again and take it out.

I wouldn't call it a sport in my case either. Just great exercise.
