I read it last night, and I really liked it, as another doze of Excel Saga, but I have to agree that it fell flat when it came to laughs, I was mostly just reading great dialogue the way I always expected it, cryptic or straight to the point for each respective character (you probably know who I'm mainly referring to), and for a lack of better words, I guess it's just starting to feel like it's getting "old", as if it's dragging with the same-o-same for a full volume...
It still had some funny moments, but as a whole, the necessary progression continues as it has for a while, with fewer funny moments than ever this time, when the fun does happen Rikudou does it right though, he can still put a grin to my face when he's trying to..!
I'm pretty certain everything I say from here on is spoiler-free, so don't get scared (like, not literally, I think) to read on..!
Had great moments as well of course, and I can't help to think how great Iwata is, and how any funny moment with him basically saves a volume form being dull to average/good..!
Anyway, more interesting stuff is being hinted and revealed, I'm sure people came up with the same theories in mind as I have (yeah I'll read your spoilers at a later time, when it's
NOT super late here
)
So anyway, for a series that will end in just 3 more volume, I really think the pace should pick up a bit faster, and I guess it's getting there from what I've seen, just too bad it took another entire volume to bring us there, so hopefully the next volumes will give us some real "action" soon..!
Oh yeah, "action" can be defined and interpreted in many ways, you know what I mean, If it was for me, I'd have Iwata do anything at all, that's action enough to keep me entertained, but for the sake of the other wonderful characters Rikudou created, I really hope they all get their share of "action", because the series deserves to end with them all looking great... Hey, "looking" in this context is yet another word that can be defined and interpreted in many ways, but I'm not gonna drag it now
Also, super omega ultra thanks again to Carl for putting my fanart (and the one I created with my friend, Ryan, ohh that was silly) into the book, I'm a little sad there were no other submissions or letters by other people that time, I'm, hoping people still care to write a few things for the last few books that are coming up soon..!
