I had this great idea for a book, but I don't know if it's been taken arleady, to one extent or another. Maybe you guys could help me out and tell me what you think?
The story revolves around a young man named Keith. He lives a normal life in a modern world. But one day, the sky begins to look funny and fireballs start to rain from the sky, destroying everything in sight. In desperation, he, his brother, and his mom get on a raft since they live near an ocean. But one of the fireballs strikes the raft and Keith and his family are scattered into the sea.
When he wakes up, Keith is near a shore where he meets a half-human, half-dragon girl about his age. IT doesn't make sense to him since dragons are only supposed to be fairytale creatures. She takes him to a castle and Keith meets some people, blah blah blah.
Long story short, Keith finds out from a witch that his modern world exists alongside this medieval world, filled with goblins, witches, that sort of thing. People on both sides never knew the other existed, excpet for the most ancient people on the fairy tale world. Keith can never return home because his modern world, actually a large island, has been completely destroyed by the fireballs. Now he must make a life in this new world as he tries to find out what destroyed his world and why, e.i. an evil that threatens all existance.
