How much do you spend on your obsession?

I spend about  $100 dollars on anime and related goods. I buy mostly manga but I occassionally buy anime and dvd box sets. Sometimes I buy figures but that is rare. I only have two right now. The Nisshiki from Excel Saga and this chick from To Hearts. Think of all the money I could save.

I grant myself a stipend of $100/month of Geek Money, which I use to feed my anime/manga habit or buy Magic cards, or rarely other miscellaneous stuff like adding a new weapon to my collection of medieval arms, but I haven't had a new acquisition there in half a year, and I only buy manga or anime when I find something a really must have - still waiting for the next issue of Welcome to the NHK and of course Excel Saga Vol. 16, but I have also been plugging holes in my Blade of the Immortal collection when the fancy strikes me.  Most of the time I rent until I find something I want to buy, so each month I might not spend all $100, or even 50, but 50+ is about right.

There is no set amount for my spending, but I buy only what interests me.

For June i'll end up spending around $50 for Cromartie High School Vol. 11 (manga), Welcome To The N.H.K Vol. 3 (manga), and Pani Poni Dash Vol. 4 (anime).

I never really counted how much I spend...

...until one day I got an email say that I had just spent $500 at a single store, and hence was entitled to a discount...

I shop at about 5 stores, just for figures, so I guess that gives you an idea.

Next pay, I have to go out and spend a large chunk of my hard earned dollars on another bookshelf and a display cabinet.


So, I guess my answer is.... not enough?

If I had to put a monthly amount, let's see... (Prices in AU$ btw)

3 resin kits @ $30
Paint & supplies for resin kits @ $15
Manga- about 6 volumes @ $15

soooo... $270/month?

lets see...about 1400 since year 7, and if we divide that by 12 months times 4, so...48, and we get $29.66 a month, and lets convert that to american....$24.33 a month, very rough average, probably a bit more...

I dont spend to much.my friends copy anime dvds for me. and i read alot of manga online. but i do buy manga. this mouth i have spent $18.00 dollars on two mangas

Wow, thats cheap! It's more expensive in Australia. Books like Ouran High, ruruoni kenshin and love for venus cost 10-15. But the majority is $22. Stuff like cynical orange, with some colour pages and are bigger in size are 24. I actually saw that book Azuza, over $30. Crazy, man.

Now electronics boutique - they are nicer, 15 for love hina books, but they have a very limited amount of books there, midori days, love hina, chobits, X, cardcaptor sakura...ones i dont get really, except for chobits and LH
