I didn't like it very much until I got to the 12th one, where it actually became funny.

I'd give the first half a 4/10 and the second half an 8/10. Overall, I'll be generous and give the series as a whole a 7/10.

Well, the Lucky Star anime has wrapped up a few months ago and I find myself missing not having another new episode to view. This has been one of the oddest and strangely entertaining shows I've allowed myself to become subjected to in quite a while... Strange for me anyways as it's not a genre I'm usually interested in. It also has to be the 'feel good' anime of '07. The secret? It all lies with the loose humor and sheer quirkyness of the characters that somehow makes this work.

Some spoilers to follow!

Episode 22 of Lucky Star: As per my last pic post here, Kanata Izumi's spirit desides to pay a visit to her home to check up on her daughter, Konata, and husband, Soujiroh. I was waiting (more so hoping) to see something like this since first finding out about her death. Of course, I didn't expect a series such as this to get too complex with details surrounding it. Still, it was fun to see this happen and how it was done. Kanata was a bit dismayed by her husband's enjoyment of dating sims rubbing off onto their daughter, but was overall pleased by how well they both get along with each other. She felt she could truely be at ease.

Also, at the end of the episode when Kanata decided to sneak into the family picture, I thought that to be priceless. To their horror they see a shadowy figure in the photo with them. Considering they were both talking about her prior to that photo, they'd have to be a wee bit suspicious of that. ^_^

I wonder something. Was the reason for the gap between the first and second season of Haruhi caused by Lucky Star?

Asking since after Haruhi ended, Lucky Star started, and now its over and Haruhi is starting back up. The voice actor for Haruhi and Konata are the same and she might not have been able to handle both projects at once maybe?

Any thoughts on that?

I didn't know that.

well it is logical that she wouldn't cope with both projects but in my opinion it's a question of currency not efficiency. basically she might have been paid more for lucky star then the 2nd series of haruhi but it might not be so. they might have got some one else in though

Oh god I hope they dont use a different person for Haruhi's voice.... I was simply amazed at how she could pull off Konata and Haruhi who are two totally different personalities and voice types

No kidding. But more importantly, Lucky Star is being brought to America via Bandai (Ghost in the Shell, Haruhi) so expect great things. Honestly, I hope they come out with limited edition stuff. My concern is that Akira-sama will be a good voice actor. One who can player her super high voice and then her low voice too.

It would be hard for me to expect great things from Lucky Star. Granted, when it's good, it's hilarious. But when it's bad, it's right up there with Chinese Water Torture.
