Anime / Re: What's the last anime you've seen?
« on: August 01, 2013, 07:56:18 PM »
Recently watched:

Angel Beats (much better than I expected from the first three episodes)
Un-Go - quite cool
Kids on the Slope - Slow paced and realistic, but I still liked it.
And now I'm watching Soul Eater, and actually enjoying it quite a bit.

I'm watching Sound of the Sky, now.

I never heard of it, but I was cruising the Amazon New/Upcoming Releases for work, and came across the thin pack edition.  I had never heard of it, but it was about army girls who played trumpets, so I HAD to try it out. (high school trumpet player and ROTC dropout) I watched the sample episode (ep2) on Nozomi's Youtube channel, and even though it looked way moe, I went over to watch some more on Crunchyroll and got hooked enough to buy the DVDs.

Still haven't seen the last few episodes, but am enjoying rewatching from the beginning.

Watching Chihayafuru and enjoying it very much. ^^

Recently watched Canaan, also quite good.

Watched Clannad before that, which was not my sort of thing at all, but not painful to watch, anyway.

Yes, Nichijou is awesome. :D  This is the scene that convinced me to watch the whole thing.

My last new anime was Steins: Gate, which is great, but Part 1 ended on a cliff-hanger, and I don't want to watch Part 2 until the US DVD is released (and I can come up with the cash to buy it.)

Also rewatched Last Exile, and found it more awesome than ever. The idea was that I would rewatch it, then watch the sequel series online (Fam the Silver Wing) but Episode 1 was full of moe girls falling on their faces and panty shots.  It felt sort of like going to the theater expecting an awesome new Star Wars sequel and discovering Jar Jar Binks.

Finally watched Blue Seed all the way through.  I was originally put off by all the screaming and panty shots in the first few episodes, but once I gritted my teeth and got past that, it was not a bad show.

Next I watch the second half of Romeo X Juliet.  After that I may get around to D. Grey Man.

Anime / Re: Anime/Manga merchandise - Where/How to purchase
« on: August 10, 2012, 11:20:36 PM »
I don't buy much anime merchandise. (My barely-disposable cash is all going on Go equipment these days!)  I have an Excel Saga lunchbox I got from Rightstuf's bargain bin.  I have a Puuchuu hat and a cool Fujiwara-no-Sai gashapon keychain I got off Ebay, and a set of Galaxy Angel figurines that came in a box set with Disc 1, which I bought on sale for $7 on Amazon, after being tipped off by a guy on Yahoo Answers.  Oh, and I have a couple of Tsukikage Ran animation cels, also off Ebay, when somoene seemed to be unloading a ton of them reeeeaaaaallly cheap.

But I think that's all the merchandise I own

Thanks for the tip about AmiAmi, maybe I'll check it out and add something to my little collection. :D

The Manga / Re: English Excel Saga Volume 23

Finally read it--too many cliff hangers!   AAAAAAA!!!!!  It will be hard to wait for the next volume, as usual.

Excel was pretty awesome in this one, and I like that they've sort of semi-confirmed some of the things they've been hinting at.  There was definitely a feeling that the answers are around the corner and coming up fast.

I really like your cats and bulked-out superheroes. :D  Not so much the pukin' puppy....

The rock star's pants look reeeeally uncomfortable! :il_hahaha:

Great stuff!   Can't post you any more divider posts tonight, though, I'm off to anime club!  Bye.

More great stuff! I especially like the guy on the space bike. :)  The cartoony girl somehow reminds me of Candace from Phineas and Ferb, though it doesn't really look anything like her.

Know what you mean about dividers.  I created a fictional forum member on one of my other forums just to divide fan-fiction chapters! :D

All of them look great!

Have to rewatch Pumpkin Scissors to get the little-boy taste out of my mouth.
:kabapu-1: You've been hanging around with Mr. Watanabe again, haven't you?

Now I'm kind of scared to see what happens to Watanabe-chan in Vol 23-27! =:O

Okay, so forget what I said about Fairy Tail improving.  Just watched Part 4, and it's all about who can beat up who, with fights preceded or interrupted by the heroes saying stuff like, "You may think you can win, but I've learned an important life lesson about friendship and honor and love at Fairy Tail which you can't comprehend, so you'll never defeat me!" and the villains say "Ha ha ha, what a naive and gullible pathetic fool you are!" before they get stomped on.

Have to rewatch Pumpkin Scissors to get the little-boy taste out of my mouth.

Babble / Re: Crazy Youtube Videos

My only Excel Saga clip was Accident, but there were other Excel clips, some of them really funny.
You should upload them to YouTube to share with the masses! Am I right on this, or what?? :ehail:

I meant the other ones in Blitz2. (Not by me...Already on Youtube!) The Retards one was very funny, IMO, Time to get ill was pretty good, too.

If I ever have the time to figure out the new iMovie, there are a few more I'd like to do, though.
