Hey guys, I have a little question for my peeps here about web hosting. I am planning on launching my own site where I will host my writing, including my first full length novel in PDF format with a "tip jar" but I don't really have my finger to the pulse on the web hosting market. What hosts are the best? And I intend to go with a pay service - I don't want pop-ups or any of that rubbish, and I'm told it's pretty cheap anymore, so dropping $50 per annum or whatever doesn't phase me.
Also, while we're on it, I don't have much of any experience with PayPal, so how would I go setting one up? I've poked around their site, but I'm not really sure what to do. Any advice is welcome.
My friend uses Simple Host. (http://simplehost.com/) Relatively cheap, no popups, lots of webspace, quick download/upload times, etc. He also hosts my website as a subdomain.
