Probably too early for me to be saying this but I don't think I'm going to like it. I actually really enjoyed the sequel because of the whole bittersweet element of kids outgrowing their toys but now seeing Andy all grow up and the toys donated to a kindergarten... I'm going to have to see more. Right now it gets a thumbs down first impression from me.

I watched most of Saw 3 on Syfy last night. Such gory and disturbing stuff usually isn't my thing but the movies actually do have a pretty neat story that all ends up coming together, at least in the two movies I've seen; it's almost like a more extreme version of Seven.

The ending bummed me out, though. I was kind of hoping that collar was just for show but that woman's head getting splattered all over the wall proved that wrong. Does it pick up in 4? Does that little girl at least get saved?
Ahh as being a fan of the saw films I recommend that you see from saw 1 to 5 all becomes clearer. About the endings they all have bizzare endings if a better word could be used. Number 4 may confuse you a little as in it does and doesn't follow on from 3, but when you see it, you will see what I mean. And I do recommend Hitman, it's not bad I had some judgements before I saw it in the cinema, but I was impressed, so I bought the DVD. Tomorrow I am going to see saw 6
Unless I happen to catch the other Saw films on Syfy I won't waste my money renting or going to the theaters. I think I'll just look them up on wikipedia and read the plots; that way I won't have to suffer through the gore.
Saw 6 is worth the viewing, but you have a good point, anyway someone somewhere have probably made them available on the internet somewhere

Holy shit, why was that rated PG? It's just endless violence; one of the Wild Things even gets his arm torn off and is left with a disturbing bone sticking out of the socket. I know little boys can be "wild" but that was just too extreme. I get that what's happening on the island is a reflection of his home life as Max sees it but knocking owls out of the sky with rocks wasn't necessary at all.
Jeez... I'm still freaking depressed after seeing it! I should've just went to see Zombieland again!

Forgot to mention I saw the original Night of the Living Dead last night for the first time. It's black and white, so I'm guessing it's an older flick, so I've gotta give it credit for actually being pretty scary. I still don't get what the big deal was with Psycho. The scene where that one guy falls down the stairs was one of the best unintentionally funny moments I've seen in a movie.

What the hell?! Tinman was awesome, and really just a modernized re-telling of the original story, but with Alice they just took the names and made their own horrible story. Alice is an adult and kind of a slut. At the end she hooks up with the Hatter and makes out with him right in front of her mom who just looks on with a face that even makes it look like she's thinking What a tramp!
Watching the greatest star wars film in my opinion, The empire strikes back, and it is just about to come up to my favourite scene, the attack on hoth

I saw that too. Didn't do a lot for me. I was expecting something odd anyways, but... geeeze.. That was really messed up! O_o Good ideas, but the story wasn't likeable in my opinion. Very hard to get into.
I'm moreso looking forward to Tim's big screen rendition of Alice In Wonderland. I feel much of this movie's success will be riding on how well Johnny Depp can pull off the eccentric Mad Hatter.

Uh-oh... You just struck a bad cord with me! I HATE Tim Burton and I'm terrified about what he'll do after his adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Depp as the Hatter just freaks me out; he looks like someone you wouldn't want to get within arm's length of.
^I will admit to Tim's style getting stale with me in recent years, but the guy still does have a good imagination. I think Alice is something he could do good things with.

After searching the web a bit I decided to finally watch some of my season 3 boxset of Venture Brothers before I went to work, forgetting it's completely uncensored.

Just got back from watching Avatar. The IMAX version was surprisingly sold out (considering two weeks since release), but the regular 3D version delivered nicely. James Cameron has a great film on his hands.

Watching the Omen 4 again, I just love all the original 4 and the remake. Still wished they had never remade friday the 13th.
Even though I'm a week off from when I saw it, I figured I'd offer an opinion on the latest Ghost Rider movie...
DON'T BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY.
Ghost Rider is as badass as they come, but this movie lacked a decent story and direction. It was... one of the most.... (what's the word..?) ... unfun (not even a real word? :il_hahaha: ) and boring movies I've seen in recent memory. The first movie was better... and that's really saying something.
Currently watching the Rifftrax to Star Trek 2 on Toonami Aftermath.
(Again.. I'm late with another recent finding.. ^^;; )
Last Sunday I decided to treat myself with Studio Ghibli's recent offering, The Secret World of Arrietty (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp2nb9Vq0yY). I knew right away this wasn't one of those movies where you phone your friends to ask if they want to go along. lol! It's a very slowly paced movie, but as you might expect from a Ghibli film, it looks absolutely beautiful and especially so on the big screen. Surround sound effects took full advantage of projecting the sounds of cicadas all around me - nicely effective in immersing you into the movie.
Anyways, this is the story of a family of tiny humans who do their best to keep hidden in a home from their larger counterparts. These tiny humans are known as borrowers - What this means is that they will only take what will never be missed (eg: When Arrietty picks up a straight-pin off the floor to keep.. no one would ever notice a single missing pin.) and will never take anything too substantial. When a sick boy with a heart condition goes to live in his grandmother's home for some R&R, he quickly realises there are more people living there besides his grandmother and the nosey housekeeper. He developes a friendship of strong trust with the youngest 'borrower', Arrietty, the daughter of a family of three who stay hidden away under the floor boards.
Not what I'd call the most eventful kind of movie I've seen, but the slow, relaxed pacing was a good treat from many actual Disney animation productions where a rampant overusage of jokes throughout the stories are not always my cup of tea. O_o

Currently starting to watch season 1 of game of thrones, can wait until next year when season 2 should be available on blu-ray.
Went to see The Dark Knight Rises, what a boring film, another that made me fall for the trailer thinking it was going to be good film.
