Okay, he's probably one of the most unliked characters of the series, but this singing slayer of bad news has his charm, especially in his song about ACROSS' condition near the end of the anime series.
What do you think about Key? Do you like him, dislike him? What are his quirks that you find unique?
His cheesiest line gets me cracking up almost every time I hear it, when he hits on Excel.
"My name is Key. I am a Key. Please, won't you be... my Key Hold?"
Key can't stand the guy (have a thing about men wearing leather bondage suits) How dare he try and hit on Excel, it's a good thing she can control her animal urges while he's around
I loves me some Key! Uncreativity needs fanservice, too.
I don't like Key, personally, but then I'd be hard pressed to come up with any male anime characters I like
However, I do wish I could rattle off lines like his introduction speech, and his farewell speech off the cuff, that'd be nifty.
Hah. I'm not a big Key fan either, but he played his role well in that one episode, especially how he was... practicing during the night which drew Excel mad.
when i first heard key's name, i thought "hmm...as in metal idol? then i heard his playing and i thought "hmmm...key the heavy metal idol"
I've always seen Key as a fruit-loop, not heavy metal material.
Key shall die at the hands of Dethklok!

Yes! Fangirls need fanservice too! :D
I liked the Key episode. Though as I said before, it kinda helps to be in the demographic that episode seemed to be going after. I didn't much like the pool/swimsuit episode, but I wasn't in the demo for that one. XD
I liked that episode, but Key himself deseved a good slap in face
Quote from: "Jinzaki"I liked that episode, but Key himself deseved a good slap in face
I secon this notion
that dream sequence had me in stitches

Well you could have if you'd agree to wear...oh wait, you're cleverly shortening the word demographic, rather than expressing a desire to demonstrate the episode.
Oh, tying Key to the end song was a nice touch too.
It's not the demographic. The pool episode just wasn't all that funny.
Quote from: "Uncreativity"It's not the demographic. The pool episode just wasn't all that funny.
Damn it, they're really not going to let us appear are they? A pool filled with everything fan servicy, including airline stewardesses, a chibi-moon assassin, and it's not funny?
I wonder if a key type fan service episode would have been funnier?
Fan service isn't funny, fan service is fan service.
I mean, it had its moments, like when Cosette gave Excel the sandwich and she went into fantasy sequence mode, but you gotta admit it was a pretty mediocre episode.
Well, I liked the part where Kabapu's trying to force his way onscreen and Momochi keeps blocking him with her head.
I also knew from the moment Pedro appeared onscreen that there's gonna be trouble.
As for Key, I wasn't really a fan, but that yaoi fantasy was both hilarious and deeply disturbing.
HUG!
And Il Palazzo freaking out inside his head. How can you not love that? NAR-BASTARD.

that part with pedro was one of my favourite bits in the episode as well as Excel over eating ("I'm so full and yet sek-sy") and also at the star in the apartment with the sandwich fantasy, the newspaper lady ("Pleas excuse my accident") and Menchi watching a dog being taken for a walk and then looking at Excel (whos dancing madly) and Hyatt (who's done her usual thing) but I had to admit the little movie things in the episode it could have done without really

I loved that part.... though I wonder how many people actually got that gundam reference you know Lalah and Amuro
but my favourite part in that whole episode was tih pedro at the end.
bah, never liked the key episode that much
saw a picture on the internet somewhere with Ilpalazzo blasting key apart

Nar-Bastard, NAR-BASTARD!
That's probably my favorite line Il Palazzo says in the entire series. Well, that and, "Hmm. Visual Appeal."

Amen.
I don't like Key personally but I do respect a person that can play an Ocarania...
Hey, count your belssings. What if there were an entire boy band instead of just Key? :p
(I'm doing an AMV about the Key episode, so I'm obsessing a bit right now...)

hey, it wasn't key HOLD, it was key HOLE. he was making a full out watchacallit at her. SUGGESTION!!
i like key. no, i mean how he's the best looking guy in the show and that fantasy excel had. nothing else is good.
what do you think about his singing?

Well, there was that fantasy of hers that went horribly wrong about Lord Il Palazzo and Key together which definately wasn't good - for her especially. :e_crying:

Hmm... How should I put it............. It's.....uhm.. interesting.... O_o
Y'know, for some strange reason, I want to compare Key with someone in RL like Ville Valo from HIM, OR especially Justin Hawkins from The Darkness. No offense to any fans of either, but I've always thought of both as a bit of a pompous ass. It's that certain kind of flamboyance they have about themselves that irks me just like Key does.
*thinks* Imagine if Elgala had've met Key in episode 21. :icon_lol:
"Damn you, just because you're a visually appealing little bastard doesn't make you cool. You're just stupid, stupid, stupid! I'll kill you, you poser! I'll definately make you die!" - Lord Il Palazzo
hmmm if Elgala met key
:elhail: Please mister key sleep in my futon as it's nice and soft ::and also I'll have an excuse to:::
:e_angry: (after punching El) IF YOU DARE MESS WITH THE MESSENGER YOU'LL HAVE TO DIE
:elcry:Senior thats mean. I mean even young ladies have urges
I guess something like that might happen :ehail:

Yeah, I can see El trying to sedduce him. :elembarassed:
she might just be creeped out by him. he is pretty weird. wouldn't you be?

Well, from a guy's perspective, I'd have to say that Key is an absolute flake. I mean, what kind of a messenger refuses to give information to someone because "his soul has lost sight of the path he must travel"? :icon_rolleyes:
Lord Il was much
tooooooooo lenient with him. As soon as Key refused to deliver the message, Lord Il should've pulled the rope on him. Immediately. Bwahahaaaaa!

He so wanted to, but I think he was afraid of geting in to trouble with headquarters. Speaing of which, since this is the anime we're talking about does that mean that the message from headquarters was from Lord That Man?

personally I would pull the rope as well it wouldn't matter if it came from HQ or not if the messenger or anyone disobeys you and they're lower ranked then they would be punished
^Exactly. Not to give such info is treasonous and an act of insubordinance. Therefore, Lord Il Palazzo would and should have the jurisdiction to punish Key as he saw fit.
If only he had pulled the rope on Key....
... my life would've been complete. :icon_razz:
(Well, episode 16 would've been better anyways.)

hmmm episode 16 that was with the Ropponmatsus that fall in love with Hyatt and Excel isn't it. the episode with key is 21
You're right. I knew that but had a brain fart for a sec there. :e_embarassed: I'm longing for volume 16 of the manga. :elcry:

It wouldn't be unreasonable to do both.
key asked 'would you take the gift of music from me?
he should have said in reply to just tell him, and who cares about you key, you're just the messenger?!

heh... Nah, see it's actually my fault for not being able to stay on top of the matter. I've been insanely busy at work lately which utterly destroys most of my free time to contact them. I'll hopefully get the ball rollin by this weekend to see what's what.

Yes indeed.
I have to wonder if a character such as Key were in the manga, how differently would Lord Il have reacted to his insolence. :eevil:
when Lord Il shot up the TV screen after seeing Key well imagine that but Key was in the room not on TV :eevil:

reminds me of james bond books where the girls names are double entendres, such as honey ryder and pussy galore. took a long time to respond to this post, didnt it? for me.
Key, most pointless excel saga anime character
i find sumiyoshi to be one too. at least in the anime.
hey, exckilla's new...welcome to the forum.
