Awesome! The longest running television series in the world returns!
David Tennant's first season as The Doctor just started on the Sci-Fi Channel. He's quite similar to Chris Eccelston's portrail of the Doctor, but a lot more spunky. I hope The Master makes a comeback. He can escape from the Eye of Harmony, right?
The Daleks rock!! Totally awesome!!
The Daleks; the robotic cast of MST3K, but heavily armed with time travel devices and PI**ED OFF! What's not to love?
I say the master. Nothing's worse then a pissed off time lord except an evil pissed off time lord.
I also LOVE these ladies.

Crap, I remember I was going to make a thread on this when it finished in the UK, but I completely forgot
Unfortunately, the Master isn't in this series, it's more about the cybermen as the big villains. Some very good episodes overall, especially the last one. The "negotiations" at the start had me in stitches.

Agreed
I love Daleks, when they popped up in their hundreds in the last series I was bouncing up and down with excitement
nope has to be cybermen for me (afterall they are the fastest villain Top Gear found out  )
the master, in all of his regenerations (including, perhaps speciously, the time meddler from hartnell's days) were incredible! just the idea of pitting one timelord against another was marvelous!
Should I start a Torchwood thread? My mom is a total Whovian and her friend has been giving her episodes of Torchwood to watch. I've seen up to the episode with the nerdy guy's ghost helping Gwen to solve his mysterious death. What I like about it is that it seems to make every episode different. They'll have spooky episodes like the village of cannibals, or touching episodes like the nerdy ghost episode, or overtly sexual episodes like the parasite episode. It also seems to be more adult than Doctor Who, (seeing how Doctor Who may be the most family friendly program on Sci-fi).
I also like Capt Jack (WAYOOO CAPTAIN JACK!!! WAYOOO CAPTAIN JACK!!!)........it's a DDR song....I think.....
Except that his American accent sounds fake. He's been acting in the UK and other countries for so long that he doesn't pronounce vowels with an American accent. In the first ep, he says estrogen with a long ee sound, whereas in America we would use the short e sound, (given that the person has a three-syllable vocabulary, which is less than likely.)
Sorry for the long post, I'm medicated right now so I'm really jittery.
hahahaha guess what everyones favourite pissed off time lord is returning. thats right at the end of the present series we get to see the master
THE MASTER IS BACK!?!?!?!?!
ZOMG!!!!

ZOMG!!!!
I got the soundtrack for Chris Doctor's season and David Doctor's first season + Runaway Bride. I love the full version of the opening.
I've been watching this series. Blink (the one with the statues) was the best, mostly because Steven Moffat wrote it and frankly he does the best episodes of the new run. This weeks was pretty meh until the last 15 minutes or so when it got pretty awesome. John Simm looks pretty good next week
Well I think the return of The Master was a fantastic choice to make : I did have a gut feeling during New Series 3 that The Master would be the next 'old' enemy to be modernised for the 21st Century.
Anyway, can't wait to see the Xmas special (Voyage Of The Damned) with Kylie Minogue as guest star!
Hm, i thought the penultimate episode of series three was brilliant, but the finale was kinda sucky really. John Simm was an excellent master.
Whats the odds on next series bringing Davros back then? I can kinda imagine there being a story arc with that one dalek that got away attempting to find davros (last seen running for an escape pod before the doctor blew him the fuck up)in a plan for him to come up with some kind of new daleks or something
My god doctor who NOOOOOO!, don't people have decent life styles anymore the old doctor who was great, this new stuff I thoought was crap, especially when they introduced the daleks and the cybermen. And one other thing didn't the daleks apart from davros, in the episode with slvester mccoy, all die when the davros managed to destroy his own planet.
Yeah, but thats kinda their thing isn't it? Get totally wiped and then turn up again later. Only happened like 3 or 4 times so far
My god its a doctor who freak, nooooooooo! maho!!!
There is no such thing as a "Dr. Who Freak", only those who are uneducated to the series would stoop to such an utterance :lordilvryannoyed: :ehail:
Actually, I think it went downhill after Tom Baker left... Rowan Ackinson did a GREAT Xmas special "Dr. Who". But I believe, it was Baker that carried the series....
Would the Master be able to defeat Lord Il.?
Smart money is on the Across girls against the cybermen and daleks anyday!
I am old enough to remember some of the original doctors even thoughs before my time, so don't criticise on my use of the word freak to truly describe doctor who fans out there, exterminate, exterminate
I am sorry for my unrestrained outburst, I have only watched Dr. Who since the second doctor and lost interest after the "Tristan" Doctor Who ended. I guess that all the painful memories of budding "Whovian otakuism" being squashed by my friends and family so many years ago made me react so unpleasantly... my regret is as deep as the ocean, as my tears as salty as the ...ocean :ehail:
I just hope the 3rd new series of doctor who gets better.

Oh christ, I wish. :icon_neutral: To be honest, beyond the new series I've only really seen a few McCoy serials so i'll stand back and let the seasoned who guys debate this one. I still stand by what I said about the daleks though
I miss David Tennant already.
Anyone else see the new special by any chance?
I'm excited that Steve Moffat, who wrote Coupling and some of my favorite Doctor Who episodes of the new season, is taking over. <3
I miss Tenant as well. I'm not too sure about the new guy, going by the preview he seems to be going for a "wacky doctor" which I don't see being entertaining. Also, dressing him up as a stereotypical 80's nerd is just stupid.
bring on stephen moffat and karen gillan. thats good enough for me to want the next series. every episode is going to be brilliant
Hmmm... don't know much about Karen Gillan, though I will say that she is quite pretty. Ahhh, gingers. <3
The whole 'Geronimo' thing made me a bit sad. I'm gonna miss 'allons-y' so hard.

That bowtie... :pedronooo:
But if anyone can pull off wacky!doctor, it's Moffat
That 2 parter christmas special was a waste of time I just hope the new guy does it for doctor who fans.
I miss Tenant so much i've been re watching series 4 again. I just love the bit in the second to last episode where mr smith gets a message from the alien ships approaching earth and all they get is one word over and over
EXTERMINATE!!
classic :ehail:
Watched that 5 parter torchwood series not bad just a shame it was only 5 episodes. Just hope the new series of doctor who ain't too disappointing
Good news. Matt Smith doesn't suck. The first episode of series 5 is very good.
I agree it was quite enjoyable and I like the assistant aswell XD but I cannot wait to see the return of the Daleks working for Chuchill XD
yeah, a brilliant episode indeed. it wasnt Moffat at his very best, but it was a great start.
I agree a very good episode indeed, curious about the dalek with the uk flag on it though and the zombie like cyberman from the coming soon bit at the end.
Indeed! I loved it even though I wasn't sure about Matt Smith at first (I thought he looked all smarmy in the previews). Luckily, it was really entertaining, though I thought the whole running off before your marriage thing was a little forced, but hey! that's the only thing I'd complain about. I'm so excited for Moffat!
I just watched the 2 episodes withthe weeping angels.....good god nothing else out there freaks me out. give me zombies and Daleks and Cybermen to face no problems but the weeping angels and I'm running
They moved!!!!! keep them away and for gods sake dont blink!!!
we have statues at work. oh my god keep them away from me!
hey, what about the final scene hu? hu? i know i would...
As for the crack in the wall, well I think the doctor is thinking about undoing time to the time war.
I have to yet watch the second episode with Weeping Angels, but heck, this new series has been awesome so far.
Matt Smith is really great as The Doctor.

I totally agree with this, I had my doubts but then again I said that about David Tennant and look how that went XD........
I missed the coming soon bit, whats the next episode about

"Vampires" in Venice.
oh great more vampires god I love vampires.......you know sarcasm really does suck on a forum
Doctor Twilight anyone? :e_annoyed:
I dont think the next 6 episodes are going to be very good. They arnt written by moffat, and nor was the recent ww2 episode...
I am quite enjoying this doctor who so far.
true I am looking forward to the next episode I'm just getting sick of vampires they're bloody everywhere. I reckon if I saw a vampire in my room I wouldn't scream or yell or try to fight it I think i'd just say something sarcastic (ie oh look the lord of the average undead stereotype)
They will be the usuall species that the doctor as only heard of and have some strange alien name
and your right XD
Next week's looks good. This Dreamlord seems interesting.
they should do an episode which is only set in the tardis, and we get to see just how big it really is, like, the size of a planet. that would be cool
the tardis is big but it's not that big. I can't wait to see this weeks episode XD
How can the doctor stick his arm through the time crack and not become nonexistent? He was sticking his arm into the same light that he was trying to avoid minuites later :icon_rolleyes:

Because the crack itself is just a hole, the Exist-Be-Gone light doesn't come through right away, hence the delay in erasing *******.
still what he did pull out was quite surprising XD
