Heh, finished my AMV...it's to the tune of Aqua's Roses are Red. It's...um....sort of a retelling of the Key episode.
Wa ha ha ha ha....
The Youtube version is here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58kME7UfF_M) Youtube did weird things to the beginning and ending, though.
If anyone wants a high-quality version, it's been uploaded to Animemusicvideos.org (http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=147441), too. 45mb download, though.
Wow, that is some killer editing. omg the motorcycle XDD
Thanks! :D
I'm afraid my initial rating over on AMV.org is pretty dismal so far, though. :p They've got the big version where they can see all my editing mistakes clearly. (Plus, I get the distinct impression there are more tearing-off-heads fans than romantic-comedy buffs over there.)
Still, apart from one or two rough spots, I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
EDIT: Heh, actually, I don't think I have any ratings over there yet...I was looking at something called a 'global rating' and possibly that's just the average for all the videos.
Anyway, almost 3am here...I should get to sleep...
that was brilliant Inkwolf (love the motorcycle and the doujishi)
Grrr..... How I dislike Key. ^^;
That was pretty good, Inky. (May I call you 'Inky'? Or perhaps.. 'Wolfy'?)
I thoroughly enjoyed the edits you put into this which truly makes it stand out as being your own - "I am declaring ACROSS to be a yaoi-free zone" - seriously lmao! The motorcycle kicked bum! Timing seemed to be fitting the song quite well. If there were any editing mistakes to be seen, YouTube must've done a damn good job at hiding them because nothing seemed blatantly obvious to me at all.
Remember, you're probably going to be your own worst critic anyways.
hey nice avatar lord Il, Like the look of lucky star
^I think that was from episode 12. Kagami saw a Full Metal Panic yaoi doujin at a booth at Comicket and just could not resist picking it up.
The look on her face is priceless!
HAIL INKWOLF! ^_^7

I think most people do dislike Key (smug, self-absorbed little nar-beast that he is) but you have to admit he shook things up nicely!

They pretty much call me Inky everywhere else. :D

Possibly! I dunno, though, they seem like a pretty tough crowd over at AMV.org. :D But their server is down (I think I'll claim responsibility for that) so there's still no reaction from the picky pros.
Thanks for the comments, everyone! This song just screamed "KEEEEEYYY!! KEY VS IL PALAZZOOOOOOO!!" from the first time I heard it.
Glad you all liked the motorcycle! At first I was looking for a motorcycle from another anime to hijack, but my neighbor had the PERFECT bike parked on the curb, so I photographed it. And I was hoping to do a few more scenes of Lord Il riding it, from different angles, but lack of time (and weak animation tools) prevented me.
Gotta admit, the man looks damn fine on a Harley.
Haha, that ws really cool
But Inkwolf, if you realize the mistakes you've made and such, why don't you go ahead and fix them..? :o
AMV.org's comments and such should mention enough of the things you could fix, then you could improve it... 8)
Or maybe you did already intent to improve it, once you feel like it..?

Because the scenes I'm least happy with, I've redone several times already, and have a combination of burnout and despair about. Or they're just more trouble than I'm willing to go to. One example (though I hesitiate to point out goofs to people who haven't noticed them) is Excel falling in the pit. If I was REALLY determined and/or had more trustworthy editing tools, I would fix it so she doesn't 'jump' at the points where I cut out the funky stuff she was falling past. I know how it could be done, it would just take more work than I'm willing to put in, considering the possibilities of software-related disaster. And the Great Will's word balloon flashes at the spot where I had to cover over a typo, but I've had to fix that scene so much already that I let it be. Better to have a flash there than risk Painter tossing in random frames at any old place...again. (I adore Corel Painter for making all my STILL digital art, but their animation feature sucks SO bad it's just not funny. And all I have to edit with is that and iMovie.)

If, one day, I have a reeeeaally good animation program, I might be tempted to revisit it. For now, I already have a new AMV in mind...plus, an Excel parody comic is pushing at the back of my brain trying to get out. No time for regrets and revisions.
Haha, that was brilliant. :D I've never seen the episode with Key though, because there's a problem with the 5th disc on the Imperfect Collection that I have, and the only copies of the episode I can find on the internet are out of sync. If only Blockbuster would carry Excel Saga. :x
So thanks for the never-before-seen (by me :( ) footage.
Ack! Poor Foggle! Well, here's a subbed scene for ya, anyway......

Wow, that was insanely funny. If I ever get to see this episode, it might become my favorite one.
Haha wow I forgot about that scene.
Quote from: "Poey"Haha wow I forgot about that scene.
Haha, how can you forget about that scene..?
That was one of the funniest scenes of that episode :D I loved how she turned to Hyatt to see if she's awake, and realizes she's dead-asleep (literally)
heh...
"Hot ACROSS Buns"Oh man, this is too great. w00t!
And I just saw HA1L's anti-Key comment on YouTube. bwahaha..

Inky it is then. ^_^

Yes they can be. But I would only hope that the org will critique your vid fairly in such a way so you can learn from it. If any of the so-called 'elitists' decides to shoot your work full of holes,
do not take it too much at face value and become discouraged by it. Stiff upper lip!
One thing to be certain Inky, your amv is not at all the simple mashing of randomness put to music like I see in so many others. I like vids like yours because I see the care, consideration and creativity you've put forth into making something entertaining that you're proud of and a theme or point of it is clearly made.
In short, the effort shows.

Yes, that motorcycle edit was made of pure, solid WIN! You're gooood! *bows* :exhail:
Quote from: "starcat"And on Lord Il's avatar -- I knew that was FMP. :D Sousuke Sagara~~ whee~~ (though I'm not a fan a yaoi. :( )
No need to explain yourself. I'm sure we alllllllllllllll believe you. :P
I can take constructive criticsm, as long as I am allowed to cry, pout, sulk, and wallow in denial for a reasonable amount of time. :D
