So yeah, say who you dislike the most, say why, whatever...
I tried to get everyone.
I chose Misaki.
I actually think she's got a cool personality some times, but I don't like how mean she can be, plus, except Elgala, I sorta like everyone.
I don't like Dr. Iwata.
He's ugly and vulgar!

I think that's the point of his character. ;D If we're counting anime-exclusive characters, then I choose Great Will as my most hated.
EDIT: POS-FUCKING-TERITY. I used "than" instead of "then." Holy cats was I retarded in 2007.
Man i hate umi. she so stupid. all she does is fall and spills stuff. :lordilvryannoyed:
What a positive thread...
Make the love, not the war.
(a chair hits SWamP's head)
Everybody has things they dislike. I think it's harmless, as long as everyone stays civil. Lord Il Palazzo thinks so, too! :lordil:
...okay, that's a lie, Lord Il Palazzo thinks we're all corrupt, but I wanted to use the emoticon.
I vote to rename this thread into "What Excel Saga Character(s) do you dislike the most?"
It sounds far less offensive...
sorry for sounding mean
Once you get to the later volumes, I'm sure you'll all agree with me on this:
Watanabe. GodDAMN that dude is messed up. I mean, throughout the series he's pretty damn weird to begin with, but you can almost respect him for at least TRYING to act normal. He's not even trying anymore. Plain and simple. He's got that CREEPY-ASS look in his eyes all the time now, and just thinking about what the hell's going on in his mind is downright FRIGHTENING.
Umi's stupidity pales in comparison, ladies. You KNOW that it's true.

Kabapu brainwashed him. I would bet all my Doritos.
VERY creepy face ALL the time...
I'm still wondering what exactly he TOLD Watanabe for him to act like this...
I mean, what the heck can one say to make one act like this..? :o
There's no brainwashing involved. He's just being honest with himself now. You know it's true. I mean, for god's sake, he likes Hyatt. You ever wonder WHY he has such a morbid fascination with her?
Watanabe was a dick in Episode 26 of the anime, too. Think about it.

That's not true...
The following is a spoiler regarding stuff form Volume 15:
It's clearly seen (actually, also read) in Volume 15 of the Manga, that Kabapu has done something with Watanabe for him to get in this mood...
When Misaki asked Kabapu what he had told Watanabe, he dodged the question and got away... He hasn't really been questioned ever since
Who knows, perhaps it IS some kind of self-realization (is that a word..?)But Kabapu most certainly has SOMETHING to do with it, therfor, very well being involved in Watanabe's current state...
Perhaps it's what sumiyoshi suggested in that volume, that they aren't allowed to be depressed anymore haha :D (although, i find that a little too unlikely...)
He was creepy before it, too. For how much women hate Umi for being a dumb ditz and messing stuff up all the time, guys would hate Watanabe for being such a dumbass and going about everything all wrong. I mean, hell, I like Iwata better than Watanabe. He may be stupid, but at least he's optimistic, and he's a pretty nice guy when he's not being an idiot.
I have to go with Shioji. I don't like pedos.

I love his attitude :(
I voted Shioji. Even though he makes me laugh, he's a pedophile and I would be far more likely to kick his ass than anyone else in the ES crew. Although Watanabe does come in a close second. He is so whiny and overreactive, and even before the creepy-post-Kabapu get together there was his, erm, "research" into sex, which led to perhaps the only scene in the whole series where Kabapu is left mentally flat-footed and doesn't know how to react.
I don't care for Umi, she's just a ditz and largely ignorable. At least she's nice.

I was thinking...does anyone remember the trip to the sewer? And Wantanabe woke up with Hyatt dead on him? And excel kicked him in the head...but it was afterwards, i was actually surprised he did: told his friends and they made out he was a real sicko and they decided it was a dream...
Afterwards in book 4, he started thinking that it was himself being perverted...
What I think happened, is that he started seeing himself as a pervert because of that.
I still he think he really is just a nice guy, he doesn't talk about her that much in the book, and im thinking of book 9, where he sees Hyatt after thinking he'll never see he again, and Misaki says "You're happy...aren't you...?", just because seeing her makes him happy. aaaaaaaaawwww.
But yeah, gotta agree that in the anime, got really annoying having him never shutting up about Miss Ayasugi...heh heh
Admittedly, Umi does have some hilarious moments in volume 16.

Man, Volume 16 only made me like Umi more! D:
you people are crazy!
Volume 16 actually gives a purpose to Umi's character. I dislike her no longer.
I am getting volume 16 tomorrow! GUARANTEED!
On topic: Like I even need to say it, I disli-- no that's wrong, I hate Elgala, she is such a useless freaking character all she does is bring pain and woe unto Excel NOT TO MENTION, she is a horrible drunk. Oh and her breasts are too large.
Really now? Now I wouldn't say that my mother fits ANY of those qualities... you're just mad because I hate Elgala, why should everybody not hate Elgala?
Because she spends so LITTLE energy making my excel's life so hectic
I dunno, it doesn't seem any weirder to hate a character than it is to love one... the only weird thing here is hating Elgala! She's no more useless than the other two! :elcry: And... frankly, Excel is the one who brings pain and woe unto her, isn't she? Excel's my favorite character, but Elgala really brings out the bitch in her.
...though her boobs are too big. :e_annoyed:
It doesn't matter if hers are bigger, it is just Elgala's are too big combined with her personality type *nods sagely*
Oh and Hyatt actually brings a nice rational thinking to the table, and sometimes I wonder if she just plays dumb from the things she says. And she is also INVINCIBLE... to outside forces
Indeed, on this point I agree with, I do not doubt her usefulness to the story...
How are you guys not picking the crazy maid from when Hyatt and Excel meet Elgala. That horribly ugly witch looking evil talking maid was the WORST

Mrs. Oya was awesome. I hope she plays an important role in later volumes.
Also, Elgala is great and would probably be more useful than Excel and Hyatt if she wasn't so feckin' lazy.

She's the Solarian Queen! :icon_eek:
(an airplane crashes into SWamP's head)
STFU!
Elgala seemed to have worked harder then Excel or Hyatt for Across actually, she did a lot of solo missions for Lord and Excel
Yeah, but Excel and Hyatt seem to have been around for different purposes. While Elgala is an actual trained professional, Excel and Hyatt seem to be Il Palazzo's guinea pigs, or at least cannon fodder recon.
Hyatt is "confident" in her manner of projectile objects. :hdead:
Well I wanted to vote for Pedro, but since he isn't available I went for his associate the Great Will.
Yeah why isnt Pedro, Pedro's sexy wife, and Sandora an option >.>
sorry, ill add more options...how did i miss Pedro?
oh hey, you can't vote now anyway. wow...what a waste.
and i am sorta surprised by the hostility.
Break it up people, before someone gets killed!
just glad we're not speaking in person...sorta restrains the anger. that's another good thing about the internet!
I reckon Hyatt's good because she helps Excel get two paychecks...she sorta helps excel work things out....in her mind.
and has anyone else felt that elgala gets the soft treatment...i mean, as sson as she shows up, they get money. she also doesn't have to go on the lame missons(they may seem fun in our viewpoint, but if you were there, you'd hate it).
well elgala and excel were homeless a little while. And elgala gets the shit kicked out of her everyday when she was with excel. I would say that elgala had it pretty bad. But still not as bad at excel and hyatt.
Well thats for the length of time, outta all of them excel has had it the hardest the longest, but for worth of hardness, its been Elgala who has had it the hardest.
I take back my hatred for umi. after reading volume 16 I began to like her. She is a kind girl.
I had to pick Pedro. Just being there takes away time that could have been spent with actual Excel Saga characters.
Pedro is useless filler, and a spineless whiner. "No!" indeed...
I don't dislike any of the manga characters, really... I disliked Elgala at first, but, like Excel, I have come to grow fond of her.
E^D
Note Manga spoilers for those not very far in.
I went with Sumiyoshi mainly because I don't find him as interesting as the other characters anymore.
Though at times I have really disliked Excel because of her actions against Elgala, sure there have been times when Elgala deserved to be put in her place but at times Excels attacks on her seem to have been the result of petty spite.
But at the moment I am really enjoying "normal" Excel though her reaction to eventually discovering that she has been replaced by a knockoff could make her my least favorite character.
yeah, i never thought about that. he's like one of those characters that never really get that much attention, even though you could really get to like him if you really knew him.
but then again, he doesn't have much of a story to tell. he's just a bit mean-spirited.
I agree with E^D Pedro was a useless character.
:O
Pedro was PRICELESS!
I think Shioji was priceless. Particularly made me laugh in episode 26 with the love hotel.
Ropponmatsu 2, few words best describe her, bloody annoying, adn didn't like her much in the manga, I thought iwata was much better in the manga than in the anime.
Yeah I dislike Pedro just being there as filler, also didn't really like his family but other than that there's no characters I disliked too much.
i thought that episode with the two ropponmatsu's was really good - right up until 2 decided to deflower excel, which was damn creepy by the way.
Funny in a creepy way
i loved the part right before she died when those memories flashed into her head. more like fantasies though. made me laugh.
Pedro is the other side of the Nabeshin coin.
E^D
nabeshin was good on some occasions, such as eps 2,3 and the bowling episode.
Dislike be damned as of V.17 I HATE KABAPU with a burning passion.
Just needed to get that off my chest.
:il_hahaha:
Really? Volume 17 made me love Kabapu x10,000.
I do dislike Umi a little more every volume, if only because I can't bring myself to aim my Teriha-annoyance directly at poor Teriha.
