The Manga / Re: English Excel Saga Vol. 25
« on: May 06, 2013, 07:20:32 PM »
I read it tonight..!

Gotta say, happy something actually happens now..! Spoiler below, so please be careful to read on if you want to read it yourself:

Anyway, overall, I think the last half of this volume makes up for the kind of dull happenings that occurred in volume 24, which just felt like it was dragging on and on, which I wouldn't have minded if it was split up with some stuff going on at least, or done in an earlier volume, and not so close to the conclusion of the series..!

With regard to your question ...

Ahhhhh! I am so pointlessly happy to have read it! (six times)

I wonder if there is any connection between Iwata's behavior in this Volume, and

in Volume 21?

Accuracy has deteriorated somewhat, since Iwata keeps messing around in my head.

^Damn! That's some mad detective skillz! :e_shocked: Very impressive.

:elannoyed: "The hell is going on here...? You know nothing of Elgala's age! Th-that magazine means nothing."

^Very interesting! And not inconsistent with my age estimates.

:e_annoyed: "Elgala! You know you're almost 27 by Volume 22!"

The End of the World was "predicted" with earthquakes and exciting stuff like that.

NO. I died - fortunately it wasn't fatal.

We're not out of the woods yet, since the Gregorian calendar jumped ahead 10 days (March 11 to March 21) in 1582 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar). We need to wait a couple of weeks, just in case!  :hpleased:

On the other hand, they are replaced by companies that know what we want and work to deliver it, be it good voice acting, uncensorship, ect. I mostly buy off Viz, but one thing I wish they did is putting the translated sound effects on the page. I don't bother looking it up, so I wonder what I'm missing.

Unfortunately, in many cases these companies are deciding for us  what "we want".

Also, while I sympathize with your comment on sound effects - since I have a hard time reading small white characters on a black background - I prefer the original Japanese characters.

Tokyopop will be missed.  :sumysad:

In spite of what the recent spoilers might imply, I am sticking with my somewhat fanciful interpretation and time-line for events (and made-up events) leading up to the beginning of the manga:

Since it may be totally wrong, it probably doesn't need a spoiler warning!!  ;)
