In general I would say that non-Japanese voice work has improved considerably in the past ten years or so, but some real turkeys have still been tossed out there to assault the ears of audiences, and so I figured I'd field this little Q.

It's not about what is better, sub or dub, it is simply about what dubs are the best and worst in your opinion.  To frame it a little more I call for a top 10 list of anime stretching back to no earlier than 1996, so a touch more than the past 10 years, for each category - Best Dubs, and Worst Dubs.

I'll post my own lists a little bit later when I have more time to think, but what do you all think?

"In the beginning the Universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move

Soske

Worst: Mai-HiME; Melody of Oblivion; Love Hina; Star Ocean EX

Best: Full Metal Panic; Cowboy Bebop; Scrapped Princess

appiness is like a duck...

HA1L ILPALLAZZO

Best - Azumanga Daioh, Full Metal panic, Fumoffu

Worst - Naruto, Hellsing ultimate vol 1 (Integra and Alucard were dubbed perfectly but the rest really needed to be better)

R Kenshin

Best?- Probably Bebop.
Worst?- um...  i honestly didn't like DN Angel's dubbing.
Roar, Roar, fight the power

super llama

Best: That's a tough one. Uh...Samurai Champloo?

Worst: Vampire Hunter D, no contest.
All these college professors teaching classes about Shakespeare, who was the 16th-century equivalent of a director of summer-blockbusters, makes me wonder if 500 years from now we'll have college courses on the subtle nuances of Michael Bay movies.

Lim-Dul

Best: Cromartie High School

Worst: Vampire Hunter D

Foggle

Best - Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing (and Ultimate)
Worst - Inuyasha (the dubbing just makes a bad show worse, IMO)

skycloud

Best: Sam Champloo / cowboy bebop

worst: Naruto (BELIEVE IT!)

I have to find a time in the near future to go back and restore the world.

Oh beans, I forgot about my own post.  Heh, oh well, better late than never.

Best (Top 3):  Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Panic (although I didn't really like Tessa's voice.  Course I didn't like it much in either version, so no big rub there), and Ghost in the Shell (all but the SAC movie, which was done by the same people but with almost no spirit whatsoever)

Worst (Bottom 3):  Inuyasha, Naruto, Love Hina.  I have watched Vamp D before, though it's been a long time so I don't remember the dub, but I know it's one of the most universally despised dubs out there.  It might bump Love Hina.

Revolutionary girl Utena : the movie was the worst, most lifeless dub I've ever heard.

Crest of the Stars was lousy, too.
