Them iPods and MP3s

OK, so Maddy wants to get herself one of these newfangled contraptions but knows very little. I was going to get one when I saw there was a sale but it turns out that that iPod was a Shuffle, meaning I can't pick what I'm going to listen to, meaning I think it's a waste of money.

So there different types and brands and I want help in choosing one. First off, what's better, an MP3 player or an iPod and what's the difference? All I really know is that you can hook up your MP3 player in car and listen to tunes which I think is awesome.

Finally, Maddy is cheap and more than willing to download free, illegal music so I'd like to know places where I can do that (you'll probably have to shoot me a PM for this).

Here's one reason why I hate Apple. Macs ARE PCs. Likewise, iPods ARE MP3 players, they're just expensive (and generally good quality) ones. My advice is to look for a cheap non-shuffle MP3 player with good scores on BestBuy.com or Amazon. It's as simple as that, really.

Watch out for "MP3 Players" on eBay, though, a lot of them are Trojan housing USB devices.

Newegg.com is also a good place to look for one.  And the only reason to get an Apple IPod is if you want a touchscreen one and/or want it for the apps.

Thanks guys. I'm still looking around for one that has a high rating and the lowest price. I just want one for songs, nothing fancy, so I should be able to find one for a decent price.

a bonus with Ipods is you can play games on them but they are essentially mp3 players with mp4 player built in. you'd be better off with an mp3 player. As for downloading for free (PM Sent)
