It seems that Nick Simmons has recently landed himself in hot water with plagiarism..

Comparing the manga shots of Bleach and "his" work, it would seem blatantly obvious.

VIZ Media is certainly going to call him out on this.

EDIT: From Radical Publishers, here's a page showcasing his comic, Incarnate. If you look at the preview you'll also notice that Bleach may not have been his only influence.... My god... looky at that..! O_O Alucard from Hellsing is in his comic too. Ouch. How's Nick going to get out of this one. :il_hahaha:

Nick's deviantArt page found here..
Appears to be a feeding frenzy on his comments page.

LOL!

Wow, I didn't know Nick Simmons was in the comic business and I'm not a Bleach fan either. Even so you'd have to be blind to think he didn't plagiarize. The other links show more comparisons and it looks like every single character in Nick's manga is a Bleach rip-off. Shame on him; plagiarism is something that really ticks me off.

Pamplemousse

Ehehehe... silly dumb celebreson. Seriously, who would -want- to copy (at least the last arc of) Bleach? (...It and I are in an extremely abusive relationship atm. I come running back to it and it does nothing but hurt me.)
I like how it notes that Kubo was more interested in Gene Simmons' son being a comic creator than anything; that was pretty much my reaction. XD
Maaaaannn... crazy kids.
I, Pamplemousse, do not believe in alligators.

Uncreativity

Wooow. How could he think no one would notice that?  ???

I wasn't aware either until stumbling upon that plagiarism article. It was a double shocker to me.

Y'know what gets me though? According to Radical Publishers, issue #1 of his comic was released last October. It took five months for anyone to take notice what was going on. O_o

Aside from the legal issues he will face, gaining respect back from the art community and fans in general is going to be difficult.

I don't think he really had much respect to begin with since a lot of people seemed to think his artwork was mediocre and he only scored that comic deal because his father's famous.

Holy copyright infringements, Batman!

I didn't realize it was THIS bad! That Live Journal entry shows a ton of pages from Bleach that Nick ripped off. Is there a single page or character that he did that was original?

Also, check out his lame excuse: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/03/books/03arts-COMICBOOKWRI_BRF.html

"Homage"... Is that what they're calling it now?

ElricJC

Homage my ass, that is so blatant it isn't even funny. Another hand-me-down celebrity DB. What a crock.

This has to be one of the most comprehensive comparisons I've seen.

It's amazing how he'll mirror images from Bleach to make them look like his own.
With Kenpachi, he was barely even trying! All he did was basically give him white hair and put the scar on the opposite side of his face.... and is that a Hellsing logo on his jacket as well? lol!
Nick doesn't hold an ounce of originality to his name.

I'm glad Radical Publishers did the right thing by ceasing publication of his comic.
