I'm drooling over this ring - a duelist ring from Utena. It's made by a professional jewelry maker. It looks just like the one in the show. It's pricey, but worth it.

Are you getting it? One thing's for certain, it'll be unique. Not many would have one.

I was waiting patiently for the new Genshiken book, but it turns out its a light novel. On top of that, the reading level is classified as baby to preschool - What the heck?!

That's really odd. Any idea what group or system rated it?

And so ends the extra weekend I agreed to do for work. *sigh* The thing is, this used to be my original weekend but the head of our department switched me without even asking awhile back because a doctor's daughter wanted it. She doesn't even work in Dietary anymore! There were sixty patients yesterday and I actually finished early because the person on the clean end was actually worth the air they breathe (I typically have Mary on that end on my regular weekend).

They also appreciate my humor, unlike the uptight wenches on my regular one. I say "I hate Valentine's day because it's a reminder that I'm going to die alone." and it gets a huge laugh. I pretend to be about to hang myself on my normal weekend because it sucks so bad and I just get a dirty look.

^I hear ya. The front steps leading outside the house here are tricky every winter. The last step at the bottom is the real killer though. The rain gutter doesn't catch the drip at the edge of the roof, so it ends up dripping and freezing on that last step. I've nearly killed myself on it several times - it's just not something you think about.

But the best thing I ever did was to cut some spare asphalt roofing shingles and fasten them down to these steps. It's gives great traction. Don't know why I didn't think of this a long time ago.

I've been so busy and separated from my dear laptop the past two weeks, so Happy Valentines Day to all, or Happy VD if you prefer a more cynical (honest?) interpretation of the holiday.
Once I get around to it, I'll post a tiny surprise to show my forum love, but for now I'm gonna go space out in front of the Olympics a bit. I love choosing someone randomly and rooting for them. So far, none I've chosen have won anything though D:
