Wanna look at my ceramic pieces (and random junk)?

I like to thing I'm imaginative, and have quite a bit of creativity, but sadly I cannot express it due to the fact I draw like a child who got their hand smashed with a hammer (see avatar), so ceramics have become my artistic outlet. For those wondering all you have to do is find a mold of a piece you like, have it poured, clean the seems off, fire it, and it's yours' to paint! I've been at it for quite awhile but here's just a few for now. I'll post more if you guys like these:

Good lord those are awesome!  :ehail: :g_hail: :elhail: :im_nabeshin:

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it!

Lord Il

Omg..! You're a good painter! O_O

Are those the fired-on ceramic paints?

They're acrylics; unless you're glazing you don't have to fire it again.

Lord Il

^Wow! Could've fooled me. They look amazing for acrylics. The detail!! O_O

I was just curious because I used to do this sort of thing at one of my old jobs. I used to cast molds, decorate, and then fire them. The tricky part was making sure not to fire them for too long or the painted colors could get burned out. I like your method better because there's no worry of that. ^^

You're making me blush!

Jeez... That would be really tough! It would be a bummer to lose all work you did because of the colors getting fired off! There's no way I'd be able to get the timing down; I get nervous enough I'm going to wreck a piece when I antique it. Do you have any pics of what you did? I'd like to see them.

Lord Il

Seriously, the detail in your painting is stunning! You have a good hand at this. :e_pleased:

And yeah, firing ceramic paints is insanely difficult. It's all about perfect positioning of the cone for the kiln switch so when it melts, it trips the switch at the correct time. Lighter colors are the worst. Red and yellow have done a disappearing act more times than I care to admit. :il_hahaha:

I don't have photos atm, but I'll see what I can do later this week, 'k?

If possible I'd also like to see more of your work too!!

MincyMatsu

Awesome work, it looks impressive, i wouldn't have thought these were home made if i didn't know otherwise already... Great stuff, show us more ..!

I'm genuinely impressed, especially by the last three. I wager you could sell those at a craft fair easily enough, seriously. Bravo, let's see some more.  :im_nabeshin:

I've got an extra class to go to tonight where I'm hoping I'll be able to finish up Pinky and Blue Boy (they're replicas from a painting). I don't like copying, though, so I turned them into The Lavender Lady and Green Gus XD.

I've got some pretty cool ones I still need to take shots of but here's a few more since you guys are so darn nice and gave my ego a boost.

That wizard'y guy on that crystal'y throne is really well colored 8)

^ Thanks; the antiquing did most of the work, though. It's what great about ceramics, just a simple coat of it can make a piece look like it took a lot more work than it did, heh.

Lord Il

Again, I am STUNNED by the paint quality. O_O
The squirrel teapot gives me the creeps with those freaky eyes. :il_hahaha:

I'll try to have a picture or two of some stuff I did soon.

Mad Hatteress

^ He's a bunny! I based him off the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland which said he had pink eyes, so that's what I did.

Sweet, I was worried you might have forgot to get pics of your art. I'm excited to see it.
