Ah, bad news, kids.  Amazon has removed the preorder for ES22, and it now has a date of April 2011.  And Simon & Shuster has removed it from their site as well.

Viz had been shifting some titles back over the past several months, so this doesn't surprise me that much, but it's still a major bummer.

That may have a lot to do with the recent layoffs Viz experienced...http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-05-11/pw/viz-media-lays-off-up-to-60-closes-ny-branch

Still, April...

On the bright side, maybe I'll stop torturing poor Carl and actually get some art submitted this time (DISCLAIMER: probably not).

A year wait, huh? Yeah, I'll be lucky to remember the series by then. It's like waiting for new volumes of Blade of the Immortal. But I guess it can't be helped, at least it's not being canned.

Still,  :lordilannoyed:

As far as I've been able to tell, the layoffs are already done and shouldn't go further. We'll just have to hope for the best.

They should've left Excel Saga alone and pushed back Naruto instead! :il_hahaha:

Of course, Viz's offices would probably be burned down by angry fans before the next volume even came out, if that happened...

Ah man...
Do you know the South Park episode, in which Cartman in order to deal with his inpatience decides to freeze himself? Start to think it's not the worst option, science-damnit!
it is no small art to sleep: for that purpose you must keep awake all day, Thus Spoke Zarathustra.

My gut instinct says trying to solve a companies money woes by releasing LESS stuff makes no sense! But I have a feeling it's not that simple.
