So I'm wholeheartedly endorsing that new movie Kick-Ass like Maddy did with Zombieland awhile back. I watched it with my friend earlier today and it absolutely blew our minds. It has loads of hilarious dark humor, a fun soundtrack, amazing action scenes, and a surprisingly interesting plot with great characters. Don't be fooled by the trailers, which really aren't all that good, this is perhaps my favorite movie since In Bruges. Needless to say, I want to dive into the original comic version as soon as possible.
But, yeah, go see it. :im_nabeshin:

Damn, I was supposed to see it on saturday with company, but my friends mom borrowed his car :icon_sad:. Hope to see it soon.

I agree completely, Foggle. This is one of those rare great quality movies that are too few and far between. Just like Zombieland, this is just a flat-out fun movie that you can't ever regret laying down your money for.

Kick-Ass opened up here last Friday and believe it or not made the front page of the local newspaper. Maple Pictures was hoping for a 14A rating. However it got bumped up to 18A (rated R) because of the violence factor. I believe most other provinces opted for the 18A rating as well.
I was actually waiting for a few stupid parents to bring their small children in the cinema (I see it happen a lot!) but no, it was all good. Some people still have a certain mindset where they think a movie based off a comic book must be okay for children - this is NOT the case.

heh.. But just who really kicked the most ass in this movie? I want to say Hit Girl considering her age. I mean.. Holy shitey...!!  :e_shocked:

Red Mist's last line at the end was pure gold.

Just go see this movie. Just go. Now. ^^

Damn it! Isn't that just the way.. :e_tongue:

Oh, here's the Red Band trailer. Much better than the one you'd see in a theatre, but still doesn't quite do the movie justice. You hafta' see this one, everybody.

Without spoiling this- the way Big Daddy spoke was hilarious

Kick-Ass 2 is just around the corner. Depending upon where you look its release is anywhere between June and August.

Not entirely sure what to think about Jim Carrey joining the cast in this one. Almost didn't recognise him when I first saw the trailers. If he can just be the character he's portraying and not himself, this might work.

But as a sequel, this movie has huge shoes to fill from the first.
