Nice lot there.  How much did you have to shell out for it?

and the Dvd was ?30 off Amazon jp private seller.

Uncreativity

Waaah. I was actually kind of reluctant to watch this one at first, because... well, Haruhi seemed kinda bitchy. ^^;; But... but then I watched the whole thing in a marathon and it's sooooooo good and now I'm reading the novels and forcing other people to watch it.

Kirbie

It's a good series, though I've only just got back into it. I'm on episode 11 now.

Tonzura koite!

I totally agree. But she grows on you almost instantly.
It's a.... likeable kind of bitchy. =P

I mean, she treats Mikuru horribly. If I was her, I would've slapped Haruhi across the face ages ago. Mikuru is too passive.

You'd be passive around Haruhi too if you knew that making her unhappy could end the world.  :P

Lord Il

^

Yes, but the girl needs to learn to put her foot down at some point as well.
Toooooooo much abuse.

Railun

Wow, this is a really addictive series, though I had to finish it before posting here since I saw some spoilers.  I've shown it to a couple people.  The English major appreciates the depth of the story.  The person who cracked trying to watch Perfect Blue for the first time while sleep deprived and drunk and cracked, left after the first episode clutching his head and refusing to acknowledge anymore episodes, which I expected.

A lot of people didn't watch past the "first" episode when it came out.  This is when rope and duct tape come in handy.

Sparky the Wonder Goat

I find that so weird though, the amount of negative comments I've read about the first episode, and even the enthusiastic reviews of the series saying "don't worry too much about the first episode, it gets much better". Both me and the friend I watched it with were in stitches throughout the whole of the first episode, and even before we'd seen any of the rest of the series, we had both agreed "Best Opening Episode EVAR". How can so many people not appreciate the beautifully crafted piss-take of bad home-made movies?

There is really something to be said for a series that has the balls to kick off with an episode that introduces precisely none of the cast members, and only shows even a glimpse of the main character in the closing few seconds. And still manages to start things on a high note :)
