The least-anticipated revival since Fuller House is finally here! Against all odds, the Excel
Saga Forum is back with its original domain name intact. Read the announcement thread for
more details, or check out the Resources section for help finding copies of both the manga and
anime. And don't forget to join our newfangled Discord if that's the kind of thing you're into!

At the moment I'm reading "Cold Granite" (for the second time :D) by self-proclaimed "bearded crime write-ist", Stuart Macbride. Very gritty crime novel set in the city of Aberdeen, and yet also pretty funny in parts. Macbride has a good grasp of "gallows humour", it would seem :)

Finished reading these

WH40K: Dark Apostle and C&C Tiberium Wars

and just got this in the mail

WH40K: DOW: Blood Ravens Omnibus

I fear no evil, for I am fear incarnate!

Randamo

i've been reading wodehouse.
honeysuckle cottage is probably the best short story i've ever read! it's like a satire of romantic stories where the hero is completely unwilling to be all shojo, so great.
but i'm mostly reading jeeves and wooster.

Dark Apostle is a good read i really reccomend it, but was a bit disapointed with the Blood Ravens series.  Current;y reading Tacitus at the moment, but nearly finished it and will soon get onto the Gaunts Ghosts series.

I'm currently reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne.
Why don't you just eat peanuts with your eyes and spaghetti through your nose you offense to God!

Poey

I'm rereading Heretics of Dune... sorta slowly.

ElricJC

Hehehehehe, oh man, I'm working on my thesis and my summer sources, so I'll just go down the list in order.  *breathes in and...*

Pilgrim's Progress, Frankenstein (again), Gulliver's Travels (again), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Fear and Loathing in America, Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail 72', Hell's Angels, Generation of Swine (again)

That's required.  Now, if I have time, I will also reach Reach (Halo novel) and Making Money (started it, but had to go to my academic reading).

Recently finished Chaucer's Love Visions, and Spencer's The Faerie Queen.

i love jules verne. i remember 6th grade, reading the journey to the centre of the earth.
im reading moby dick now. not a dark novel like i expected, good humor to it.
what are the halo novels like. whats the story?

ElricJC

Don't know yet, it'll be my first one, but I'll let you know if I can ever read it :D, but Reach is the story of what happened on Reach before the first game started, and introduces us to Sergeant Johnson.  I figured it was a decent place to start since I couldn't find the first book of the primary trilogy.

The halo books were alright, but there are some better novels out there.

Oh I know there are, I'm a literature student after all, but I hope they're good enough for a fun read.  Not everything one reads has to be Nobel prize winning material :).

I've been reading Catch-22.  It's pretty funny although it's taking me forever to read. Once I finish that I'm going to read Dante's Inferno.

Necrominion

Dante's Inferno, or the Divine comedy is a good read.  Depends on if you get the original format in seperate stanza's or the modern book form.

i breezed through catch 22 because i enjoyed it so much. i don't know why, but i wasn't confused with the timing, the flashbacks, how the story played out.

and with the halo books, the point of reading it is to get the whole background from the books. does it have the same 'feel' or atmoshphere as the games?
