If I see it on import somewhere I may buy but, I will most likely wait even if it takes a while.

I bought a copy of the first movie months before the official release at a dvd store in sydney's chinatown. I don't know if it was a legit copy, but it had proper subtitles and seemed decent. I bought other things there that didn't have proper subs at all and they were definantly illegal copies. I didn't realise that at the time.

If I see the 2nd movie there, i will buy it. Just because i have to see what happens. Not because Kaworu's there. Not at all.

Now, as some of you may know, I didn't like Rebuild 1.0.

With that said, 2.0 was fucking amazing! I absolutely loved it! Probably my second favorite Evangelion so far (after End of Eva).

That's good, since he only has about 25 seconds of screen time max.

Oh, you big joker. *Sniff*

J-List has the blue ray listed. Who's fan enough to buy the Japanese release? I saw a Hong Kong release of the movie, with english subs. I might buy that - because im desperate to see it. Don't worry, I'll buy the real release too.

I heard from a little bird that this movie has a different take on the elevator scene and Shinji's player now plays song 27, although in the show he only listens to songs 25 and 26. Hmmmm!

As I recall, wasn't that like a Sony Walkman-esque type player he had originally? Is he still playing cassette tapes in this rebuild?

Behold! He plays a SDAT tape player. I believe the series is still set in the 90s... Asuka is seen playing a pretty old portable console that I don't belive I've ever seen.

Bought a Hong Kong version. Hate me if you will, but you see - i get to see the movie now.
Spoilers ahead, if you can call them such: All i'll say is so colorful! Actual english voice actors for english roles. Asuka acts so violent and snarls at her game console - NO! she's just like me now. Mari looks like fun, I actualy like her.

And THIS:

Is so worth the money, if the movie itself wasn't. Which it is...

Finished the movie! The first half is reminiscent of the Asuka introduction episodes, but the other half feels more like the end of evangelion, with it's reckless abandon for the character's lives - i say no moar.

The 5th child is Mari from North America(i think). Since each country can only have 3 evas, she follows a different chain o' command. She has a different viewpoint of piloting eva, that it's fun, and she gets lots of enjoyment out of the whole procedure.

This movie will introduce a couple new ideas, so expect the unexpected! Also, the characters will have more open and differing personalities particularly Rei, Asuka, Shinji, Misato and Ikari.

Thank you for that bit of info, can't wait until movie 3.0 is released though the title sounds like something off a highlander movie the quicking.

Evangelion: 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance finally gets a theater release this week.
Check your local theaters for availability and times (they are limited!)

On a whim, I checked for a theater release date for 2.0. I couldn't believe it was literally hours away. O_O

Unfortunately I can't round up anyone else to go and the weather has been a bit iffy lately. I'll have to sit this one out. T_T
