The least-anticipated revival since Fuller House is finally here! Against all odds, the Excel
Saga Forum is back with its original domain name intact. Read the announcement thread for
more details, or check out the Resources section for help finding copies of both the manga and
anime. And don't forget to join our newfangled Discord if that's the kind of thing you're into!

Oh cheese doodles, I didn't even see this post before I made my post in the Black Lagoon thread.  Score!  :ehail: :elhail: :im_nabeshin:

About fucking time...

That just made my nipples hard.  Seriously, you can chip diamonds with them now.  Awesome.  :il_hahaha:

Absolutely fantastic news! Thanks for the info, Foggle. I had no idea what was going on with this or if anything good would ever surface.
This situation with Geneon USA has been dead in the water for over a year now and felt like it was never gonna move anywhere. Kinda comparable to what VERY bad constipation can be like. :il_hahaha:

What I am curious about now is if Funimation will re-release all those listed titles from the beginning under their own name. It would only make sense if they did because I'm sure copies of them were limited when Geneon USA was probably on life support in their last few months of uncertainty. Then, when the plug was finally pulled, well... we all know what happened there with the unfinished titles. :lordilvryannoyed:

What this immediately means to me:
I can now buy Higurashi with a newfound confidence because I now know it will actually be completed.

Hellsing Ultimate 4, come to daddy!

So what does this mean about Europe?
Good point.

With Funimation taking over Geneon USA distribution, that could be the initial stepping stone needed to get the ball rolling with having these titles as region 2 releases. The UK will now need a distributor of these titles and hopefully someone is going to bite soon in wake of this breaking news. Hopefully someone can find out about this.

From Anime News Network, here is a posted release schedule..

And, after a little bit of digging, I found out that Funimation has also acquired at least thirty licensed titles from ADV Films. Seems they're taking over a good portion of the market.

So, I will be spending some money on August 19 and September 30 apparently, and I can finally cancel that order I made with Hastings for the Geneon versions of BL 1 & 2 (which has been reordered twice since they can't find it.  I so happy :D).

I'll also keep my eyes open for any news of Region 2 release announcements, I imagine they will.  Funimation does seem to be dominating the market, but that's fine with me, as long as they're smarter than Geneon and ADV are business-wise.

Wow!  Finally I understand why ADV refused us permission to show some of their titles at our last Anime Aftewrnoon--those titles are now Funimation's!

DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!!___OFFENSE!! OFFENSE!!

My friends are going to be so excited to hear that they can finally finish Higurashi. :elhail:

Also what about the fate of Rozen Maiden?  Does Funi have that also?

ElricJC

Just pre-ordered Black Lagoon season 1 from Hastings, with August 19 as the confirm date (squee!!!), I'm so happy.

And on a personal note, this still makes my nipples hard.

Rozen Maiden was an enjoyable series. This might be another title I'll pick up.
Suigintou kicks ass!

Not sure if you want Revy to be within earshot to hear you say that. She might cut them off in your sleep. Or worse. :il_hahaha:

Anyways...... You've been standing in front of the air conditioner for too long, haven't you?
That's the problem. :e_tongue:

I wouldn't doubt they were a bit nervous at the time as to not leak out too much info until an agreement was finalized with Funimation. For that matter, it's not the best kind of info to share at a con anyways when the main purpose is to promote their own company. ^^;
