Quote from: "excel-excel"well my attempt at priming my Yuki has failed, looking into why.3 possible reasons:

1.need the mr hobby base white 1000 spray can rather than using it thro the air brush.
2.Need a good brand airbrush like iwata
or
3.somethign else, lol.

gunna strip em and start again, heres some pics to show how bad it turned out:

There's two way that I use to prime my resins.
Firstly (the "common" way) is to use Mr Surfacer 1000, then cover that with Mr White Base. If you're goign to AB the primer, then thin it to about 40%, put about 40-50 pounds of air behind it (if your AB can take it), and go full air with only a little flow (if you've got a dual action), from about 20-30 cm. I find that when I'm doing things like this (be it colour or primer) that it's good to hold the AB behind your ear. That way you can keep a close eye on the flowrate etc at the figure end.

The second is to use a primer spray, like Tamaya's Fine Surface Primer (Plastic/Metal). I use this most of the time, as you can get primers that are also white undercoat, which makes life easier. I like the Tamaya becuase it also has a nice finish for using clear/semi-clear flesh tones on.

Although the primer you've got in this post doesn't seem too bad.

I'm not sure where you are with this fig (been away for a week or so), I'm willing to help you out if you want. Also, make sure you have some pearlescent particles for the hotpants... she definately needs it :>

I have a few kits with pesudo step-by-step details on the windfs site; http://www.windfs.com/forums/index.php?showforum=23

That might help you a bit.

You should also try "spiking" (or pinning) your resins, it makes them much easier to handle and also helps in assembly.
get paid to push around air. That fact is both amazing and depressing.

worked it out, Mr surface is ment to be sanded down to create a perfect surface. So im stripping that off and using Mr base white 1000 instead working a lot better.

What you have to ask yourself is if it's worth it to buy a complete new set just to get the display stands. IMO, I don't think I would without first trying out some clever ingenuity.

One idea might be to buy a length of small gauge, solid copper wire (maybe aluminum wire). This could be cut, bent and shaped similar to the original stands to make them stand up again. Do this in such a way as to not make them look like they're being attacked by tentacle monsters!

I really think this would work though. Might even be better than the originals. Visit a local hardware store to find something suitable.

Finally got around to uploading some more pics.
Yes, I know my photograghy sucks, thank you.  :P

My pride and joy - Saber from Fate/stay night. This is getting expensive on ebay these days at double the price of what I paid. I feel I've made a good investment...

If you stick them to wawrhammer bases you can also have them proxy for deamon princes/avatars

HA1L ILPALLAZZO

well have been adding to my collection and bought jet from cowboy bebop but thats about it.

on the Excel front I might do that Lord il with the wires (seems cheaper and less damaging then the other methods)

cpl_crud

Just get yoursef a pin-vice, some copper "wire" (16 guage seems to eb strong enough) and give it some pinning love.

You can buy bases at most hobby shops.

Oh, and lolipop-head, slightly more assembled (pardon the breasticles):
