ok at this time this might seem pointless as I think ya all have the prize but anyway

the competition is simple, you write a short story involving the following characters and the best wins

heres the prize

volume 16

ok here are the list of characters

the cast of Excel Saga naturally
Optimus Prime
Mr T
Megatron
Skeletor

this compitition really is for people who don't have volume 16 it might mean this competition might be a waste of time

Haven't had a chance to get to the book store lately, and my finances are in too much turmoil to order off Amazon, since I'm too big a cheapskate to pay shipping if I can possibly justify an order large enough to qualify for the free ship.

ugh... I'm just.... disgusted. :e_crying: My comic book shop has let me down. Went there today and ES 16 wasn't added to my account. Unbelievable. >_<

This contest is looking verrrry appealing right now, HA1L.
If I can just get enough free time to myself to write something good. I'm hoping my work hours will cut down a bit in the next week or two.

I assure you, 'Weird' is my middle name. Not many know that, nor do I admit that fact much in public to begin with. :lordilsmile:

The first thing that comes to mind when I see that list of characters is to create the new A team (Very old show about 4 guys (one of them was actually Mr. T) who were mercenaries for hire who helped save people and stuff).

I could make a really funny story of that kinda setting, special with the hate of Megatron and Optimus Prime and Skeletor's natural evilness with Mr. T craziness... make a story of them doing a simple mission like saving a cat outta a tree or something and it ends with them blowing up the city or something lol...

Man, I'd love to give this a go but my work load is so heavy right now I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I still can't get to any of my own writing, or even get my sodding novel off the printer and off to the publisher for review. I'm really starting to loathe the life of a Graduate teaching assistant.

If there is some way for me to do so though, I will. A nice little excursion into weird territory could do me some good.

heh, i have started and to be honest, i have no idea who any of these people, so of course i've made their personalities a bit different to how they actually are and i have little idea as to what their strengths are...so i transformed them.
into bishonen.
because they are so much fun to write about.
okay, i'll change them back eventually.
or maybe focus on how (not)funny it is...hah ha...

I knew someone from school I used to call "smiley" just for that very reason. It used to make him laugh every time.

The very idea is hilarious! You should go with what you want, but I'll give you a mini low-down on who they are:
Optimus Prime and Megatron are the leaders of two factions of transforming robots from The Transformers. (C'monnnn, I know The Transformers must be popular in Australia too, right?) :e_wink:
Mr T - Best reference I can tell you is when he starred in The A-Team.... "I pity tha foo that don't know who I am, sucka!" :e_tongue:
Skeletor - The evil skull head guy from the He-Man and The Masters of The Universe cartoon.

I've some really, REALLY weird ideas in my head for this. Just need to make time to get them down on pap-....... er.... Notepad!
