I'll have to agree. E^D Crow's post had nice positive affirmations to it. Good stuff to take note of. ^^

Grrr..! I hate 'bots.
I swear, I think registering spambots are actually trying certain tactics to the anime boards they join in hopes of spreading their garbage. Take this for example:
User name: ikkitousenhentai
Email addy: 3dani.m.a.t.edj.a.pa.n.e.s.ehen.t.ay@ gmail.com

.... riiiiiiight. :lordilvryannoyed:
Such an email address would be fake anyways.

-In Other News...-
I gotta tell you guys, things have actually been pretty good, even since then.

Here are some random, yet awesome, things that have happened to me, since my last post:

My mother, sister, and I gave my Uncle (mom's brother) an awesome gift-basket, full of all kinds of tasty Italian foods.  This gift-basket was hand made, by us.  My mother bought the food, my sister bought the 60th and Over The Hill stuff, and I put it all together.  Everyone thought we bought it premade!  I told my Uncle that this was not a basket of food and stuff...  this was a basket of love!

Turns out... He loved it!  =^D

THEN!
(Yes, there's a part two!)

My best friend buys a XB360 for his son (and himself ;^D  ).  Has an old 28" CRT TV...

Mutual friend calls, has a 42" PLASMA, low-end model, recently repaired: $180.  Needs the money, *now*!

Best friend does not have the money at the moment, but I do, so I loan it to him (well, give it to our mutual friend, anyway).  Then, because I love these people, and they're like family, and I'm just that loopy enough to enjoy it, I built their new entertainment center, then hooked up the TV, cable, and 360.
He pays me back a few days later; everybody's happy!

 ~WAIT!!!~

There's more:

My other sister's birthday is coming up.  She asked me to get her this $30 purse her co-worker was selling.  Sure!  Fine!
I then ordered her a set of pots and pans she's been wanting (expensive, but I got them on sale! [like, $100-off, on sale]).
Once they arrive, I'm bringing them to her, actual birthdate, be damned!

Last year, I was kind of very low on funds, and didn't do much for her birthday.  This year, she has no idea...  X^D

I cannot see!

Uwaa  :elcry: I see a brand new set of Super Dimension Fortress Macross. That's super expensive and I want them but eBay tells me when I go to ask them that the seller can't respond to my question. Why? Is it because he's from the awesome US of A and he doesn't wanna sell to a gross Australian? I'm sad!

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. I found a US listing for a mint condition car part. Very difficult to find in such good, used shape for the price. When I went to ask for a shipping quote to Canada, I got the same deally. O_o

Randamo

I made Nikujaga today. It's good, but I made the serving smaller and so made the measurements smaller - but forgot about it when I did the flavourings. I add double the Soy Sauce, Mirin, Stock, Sugar and Sake.

TOO SWEET.

I thing Nikujaga would be better served with white rice on a dish. Less Onion too.

Interesting. I've never had Nikujaga. Share your recipe?
Seems to be a lot of variances of how it's made. O_o

I do like to experiment in the kitchen when time (rarely) allows.

This is a bit of typing, so be thankful.

SERVES 4

Ingredients:
750g potatoes
400g onions
200g finely sliced beef
1 tablespoon sunflower of vegetable oil
2 cups/400ml dashi stock or light fish stock
75ml soy sauce
3 tablespoons caster sugar
2 tablespoons mirin
1 tablespoon sake - it can be called cooking rice wine. Don't use the drinking sake!

Method:
1. Peel potatoes, chop into bit size pieces. Soak in water for 5-6 miutes to remove starch, then drain.
2. Cut the onion into 6 wedge-shape pieces, then chop the beef into bite size pieces. (I cut an onion 6 ways, then peeled of some layers within the wedge to cook evenly)
3. Heat oil in large saucepan. Stir-fry potatoes, add onions and beef and cook for a few minutes.
4. Add the dashi stock, soy sauce, mirin and sake to the saucepan and simmer. Remove any scum from the surface (you'll get it frothing up for a minute or so, but it stops soon) and place lid on top. Simmer until potatoes are cooked.
5. For richer flavour, add more soy sauce or sugar.

And that's it. You can get most items from the asian section at the supermarket or the asian food store. I have one nearby, so I got all the ingredients.

If you don't like onion so much, cut some out. I don't and had several pieces left over. Onion's kind of a nothing food to me. But the meat is delicious.

I recommend making some rice with it. Eat it chinese style!

Lord Il

I'm not much for onions either. They don't like me. :hdead:

I'm torn between using dashi or fish stock. In your opinion, which works best?

The asian section at the local supermarket has grown a lot in the last few years. I've a feeling I'll have no trouble getting those ingredients.

Oh, and I do appreciate the effort! Thank you!  :ehail:
I'm always open to new food ideas.
