I got tickets for tomorrow (Sunday) night. Can't wait! We watched Eva 1.01 this afternoon to get ready.

I really wish we had a Saturday or Sunday showing here instead.
Thursday evening was a strange time for it.

I'm lucky, San Francisco is playing all this weekend at several showings per day.

My mind's been fucked. I need to get it when comes out on DVD. I wonder where they're going with the 3rd and 4th movies. I'm so perplex. This is going to be interesting.

I've heard the 2.0 installment was quite a turnaround from the original.
But is it better?

that's for you to decide.

They really made up a whole bunch of new stuff that is completely different from the series. Personally, I DON'T like it, but I'll wait until the next movie to finalise that opinion - it ends on a sorta cliff-hanger.

I like the original series and End of Eva a lot more than the Rebuild movies so far, tbh.

I adored the first movie. It was also pretty much the same as the series, so there isn't much explanation behind it.

The second one screwed with my mind. I don't know if I like more or less, or if I should even be comparing it to the series. I really have to see where the movies take it before I can judge. It's just... different. There were a few complaints I had with the second movie, but those were surface-level artistic complaints, not anything to do with the story or characters really.

I thought some of the music, on at least 2 different occasions, was inappropriate. 1 was Asuka's entrance (the generic rock-metal guitar solo thing... in 3, I actually didn't like how it was in 3 which might be weird). The second was when Unit 01 went berserk with the dummy plug and Shinji went "oh no!" and ate Asuka. I liked what they were trying to do with the music, but ... eh, I thought it just came off misplaced.

Oh yeah, and the new girl... interesting. So far I'm not sure what purpose she really serves. I'm curious. She obviously must have to do with something more later. So I don't really know what I think right now.

Yeah, Mari's presence in the movie seemed more like a cameo appearance than anything else. I wonder what's up with her.
