The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

For those of you who watched episode 4 and were thinking "what the hell...who is that guy, since when can Yuki use magic, and what's with Mikuru telling Kyon not to help her or 'that' will happen again", here is the true yet unhelpful explination.  The anime series was made for those who read the novels, and the episode titles correspond with the novel chapters.  However, those who read the novels know that "The Bordem of Haruhi Suzumiya" is actually chapter seven, whereas chapters one and two were episodes two and three (episode one being the crappy student film made by the main characters that actually gives hints as to what the main storyline is).  The reason they are showing the anime episodes in the incorrect order is related to the main storyline (though I don't wanna spoil too much of it)  If you wanna know exactly what's going on, PM me and I'll tell you what I know.

If you reveal any more plot points (that aren't blatently obvious, like the ones above) I will track you down and kill you.
It's bad enough that I have to wait for each episode (I hate waiting, so I usually get a whole series at once).

I think it's actaully quite awesome the way that they're screwed with the continuity, it makes more sense that way.
Well, to me it does anyway.

Damnit soske, every single time I see one of your posts I'm forced to watch the end credits for haruhi... and then the opening ones..

Friggin addictive theme songs.
Ep 5 should be subbed and torrenting in the next 24 hours if anyone's keeping score...

I know how addictive those songs are, and I'm waiting on pins and needles for a full version of the ending to be released (hopefully there will be one).

yeah that's one OST that will join my collection.

I'm also hooked on the "sentimental generation" track from school rumble ni gekki, and i've got no idea why...

I suppose the composers have done their job well...

Side noteL my flatmate, who is in the process of becoming otaku, has fallen asleep watching Eva again. I'm very tempted to combine the impending "theme song medley" with the "wake up the flatmate game"...

Episode 5 is up on youtube.  Finally fills us in and picks up from ep 3.  This series may ultimately save me some pain when I have to write crazy shit for Philosophy class my Firstie (senior) year.

Here's a clip from episode 3, which shows you a fool-proof way to get a free computer.

Finally got a chance to see this clip today. Damn, that was funny.
And you gotta know that a method like that has to work. =P

If the rest of the series is as clever as that, I'll soon give it a shot.

The anime series was made for those who read the novels

hmm.. So reading the manga is a requirement for the story to make sense? uh-oh..[/color]

Well, seeing as how I haven't read the novel yet still get the story, I don't think that's a problem, just remember not all episodes are in order, if you wanna know the conitnuity order without reading the mangas just pay attention to the episode previews.  Kyon says the release order while Haruhi says the continuity order.

EDIT: If you wanna hear the full version of the ED, while I haven't found a download of the song itself, I did find this on YouTube.

EDIT AGAIN: Here's where you can get the full version of The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya's ED, "Hare Hare Yukai"

YAYYAYYAYYAYYAYYAYYAY

Ah, I will be able to sleep easier knowing that I can loop that eternally whilst I slumber...

Ep 6 was quite good. I'm really hating the fact that I have to wait a week between episoes, and also the fact that some fckwit decided to "shape" my broadband after a measly 10 gig of transfers per month...

that's both ways folks...

I think my highlight so far is the preview for Ep 6 (9):
"Next week will be... *chsk chsk chsk*"
"What the hell?"

I don't know why, but I piss myself every time I hear that. There were also some pearlers in Ep 6 that I will be referencing in further posts

I loved this last ep, my favorite part being when Haruhi said Mikuru would be the first victim

Wanna see how crazy the Japanese Haruhi fans are?

Yeah that reaction was so awesome...

I wonder how much more she'll be able to take of Haruhi?

I think it's Ep 3 where haruhi is sucking on her ear for no apparent reason, or when she's patting her in the maid's uniform in Ep 5... it's classic...

The first three episodes are currently subbed, so my question to everyone here is how many of you have converted to Haruhi-ism?

Oh you know I have. And I've found episode four as well.

Whilst we're on the topic, has anyone managed to get thier hands on a copy of "Bouken Desho? Desho?" ?
Whilst not as addictive as Hare Hare Yukai, I still like it.

And i'm sick of this waiting. My broadband got throtteld the other day, the torrent went form 15 minutes to 1 day. ONE FREAKING DAY!
Needless to say, I've upgraded my plan. Stupid national ISP thikning they can just make up the prices as they go along...
