Quote from: "Sparky the Wonder Goat"
I find that so weird though, the amount of negative comments I've read about the first episode, and even the enthusiastic reviews of the series saying "don't worry too much about the first episode, it gets much better". Both me and the friend I watched it with were in stitches throughout the whole of the first episode, and even before we'd seen any of the rest of the series, we had both agreed "Best Opening Episode EVAR". How can so many people not appreciate the beautifully crafted piss-take of bad home-made movies?

There is really something to be said for a series that has the balls to kick off with an episode that introduces precisely none of the cast members, and only shows even a glimpse of the main character in the closing few seconds. And still manages to start things on a high note :)

I, too, enjoyed the first episode, as did everyone I watched it with.  The negetive comments about it make no sense to me.

"Mimimikuru Mikururun!"

yeah it was played at my university's anime club, i loved it, (oh god, the opening song), but people had mixed feelings towards it. poeple couldn't stand the randomness, and some people loved it.
appiness is like a duck...

well as funny as the series is thus far... the novels material yet used is even funnier. With everything happening in episode 1-5 (in the correct viewing order):02,03,10,13,14.
With all that being from the first novel, there is plenty of material yet to be used (except the stuff already used: i.e the other episodes)
the second novel, which im reading now (on the last chapter) focuses on the conception and filming of the movie seen in the first aired episode.
Which is hilarious to read.A second season is a must happen situation after reading the novels.

Yes, there is a lot of material for a second season, especially since the novel series isn't over yet.  I really wanna see the episode where...

(NOVEL SPOILERS)

That one friend of Kyon's thinks he's in love with Yuki, when it's actually just he doesn't realize his esper power to locate members of the Data Entity, and Yuki decides to remove his ability (she can apparently do that).  I just wanna see her reaction when she knows for sure he doesn't like her animated.

Wow, that sold for a lot, even for something that rare.  Though I wish I was the one who won.

Oh man.... Ultra rare as well as ultra expensive. O_O
That's really nice though.

I'm gonna try building a kit someday when I get some good quality airbrushes.
I'd learn a lot from it.

But never would I shell out that kind of money for a single kit.

what...and spoil the effect :?:

speaking of brief, there's an ever-so-brief mention of haruhi on page 71 of the august '06 issue of anime insider, heading the column, "manga to learn japanese for".
