Well, my list is much shorter:

1:  Excel Saga (Favorite)
2:  Blade of the Immortal
3:  Berserk
4:  Ghost in the Shell
5:  Welcome to the NHK (starting to lose interest a bit)

Not sure what I will add next, if I will add at all.  I've read more than this, but I need to be really impressed with Manga to buy them - they need to have some staying power.  I can't think of anything else that really compels me to go forth and buy - and so many series are so long the expenditure is rather large, my Blade and Berserk lines are still very piecemeal, I think I will fill those out before I buy any other series.

Well, I added a little bit more over time, still completely current with Excel Saga of course (V 1-18, waiting on my order for 19).

Blade I have current from about half way through the series to the present, so about 9 volumes there I think, and Berserk is current from V.16-28, now waiting for 29. Completed Welcome to the NHK (1-8), and it was for me largely forgettable after all was said and done. Many funny parts, and a more poignant story than I had expected, but it didn't really satisfy.

I have also been acquiring Oh My Goddess, from about Vol. 21-32, basically from the end of the Lind arc (which was the focus of the 2 episode OVA "Fighting Wings"), since it looks like there won't be any more OMG anime for quite some time, if ever. It's my guilty pleasure. Rather a broad selection of genres there, but what can I say, I have broad tastes.

Black Lagoon: Just started getting it this year and need to pick up the 5th volume as soon as I get Excel Saga #19. Even though I've watched through the Black Lagoon anime, I wanted to pick up the manga of it to see how they differ - the anime is VERY faithful to the original work. Just as fun to read as it is watching.

As previously posted, most of my manga fix comes from the pages of the monthly Shonen Jump magazine.
So really the only actual manga titles I own are Excel Saga, and now.. Black Lagoon - A whopping TWO titles. :il_hahaha:

I'm looking into maybe getting the Rosario Vampire manga after hearing how much different it is from the anime. From what I've seen, the anime is a huge, horny ecchi fest - so many shots of pantsu, I almost thought I was watching Ikkitousen! Perhaps the differences in the manga will offer something more worthy as I do enjoy the characters.

Yeah, I bought up Black Lagoon for the same reasons, and also agree that the anime is very faithful to the manga, and I'm waiting to pick up essentially where the anime left off.

had a coupon, had to get some manga. Borders had so little i felt like getting, so i tried Imadoki by Yuu Watase. she's a good shoujo mangaka, so hopefully it won't be too girly and sappy. Also got peacemaker 3. I love peacemaker - samurai and good ol' violence. Love the art too.
I'm leaning towards shonen manga these days.

They do some article and at the end have a section called "Shelf Obsessed" where they post pictures of godly anime/manga collections.
Example.

Impressive collection. How many bookshelves did that absorb I wonder.

^Manga are fairly small and thin so I'm only just starting on my second shelf because I was able to fit two rows of manga on each layer.

heh, thats an impressive collection. i myself have only 179 manga.
Recently bought:
Neon Genesis Evangelion - which Spike Spencer thought it necessary to deface my shinji pic. I did ask for his signature, but i wasn't expecting that.
Higurashi 2. It looks like vol 1 has gotten hard for me to find. Already sold out in amazon, with no signs of being restocked.
Excel saga 19

Higurashi 2. It looks like vol 1 has gotten hard for me to find. Already sold out in amazon, with no signs of being restocked.

You know, it seems like Higurashi is problematic to find because of the way things are numbered. The big numbers on the side indicate the chapters, NOT the series overall. All of the chapters are between 1 and 2 books long, so right now there are two books with "1" and one book with "2". So, when stores order books they probably think they already have a bunch of "1"s, so they don't order any more when they're actually missing that book in the series. That's my theory anyway, and yeah it took me a little while to find the first volume. I found it at a Barnes & Nobles. :icon_neutral:
