This thread is for anything and everything related to figures.
Show off what you have to the masses! ^_^
Need a certain figure.?
Ask here where to find it and how to possibly score a good deal.
Here's my first pic of the guardians of my PC. :Ewink: (I'll upload more later.)
Many you'll recognize as the small gashapon type figures included in the special editions of G.I.T.S. The other small ones are all from InuYasha. Saber, from Fate/stay night (my present pride and joy), stands in the middle back. Asuka, Gothic Lolita version, is to Saber's right, and Aya Natsume from Tenjho Tenge is to her left. I got both Asuka and Aya dirt cheap from a con last year in Toronto..... good times. ^^

now thats what you need to protect a PC :exhail:
of course it needs a few more things like say

That is so awesome HA1L. Nearly brings a tear to my eye. :Ewink:
Old skool Megatron and Optimus Prime.... Nothing touches that.
@e-e: Thanks for putting your EVA-02 back up again. I didn't get a good look at it the first time. ^^; Very impressive!
http://images.shagtech.com/harem.jpg
That is the Harem as it stands at the moment, however there are a few more in the mail.
I also put up the details of the figs that I'm building in the WinD forums: http://www.windfs.com/forums/index.php?showforum=23
I'm working on Tatiana from Last Exile ATM.
As for palces to buy things:
PVC/Completed Kits:
http://www.hlj.com/ -> Hobby Link Japan. One of the widest ranges out there, and based in Japan too. They aslo do clothing and the like.
http://www.tmpanime.com/ -> Twin Moons Anime. Based in the US, but if you're not in Japan or teh UK, they are one of the best rpiced joints.
http://tokyotoys.com/ -> UK based, so good for anyone who gets cheap postage form the UK iI guess. Prices are slithgly high than buying fomr the US/Japan, but that's part of teh fun I guess.
Resin kits:
http://www.e2046.com/ -> awesome site, has resin ktis of practically every series, and a painting service if you're not confident in your skills (I also paint for commission, and could end up being cheaper).
Anyway, here's to anothe figres thread
dunno if this is the right thread or not but I was wondering if anyone knew about any anime conventions in the UK
Here's a definitive list that seems to be kept up to date: Clicky (http://www.ryouko.demon.co.uk/ukcons.htm).
Thanx very much sparky :Ewink:
my Haruhi resin Bunny girl has arrived, now begins the hard task of learning airbrushing and everything else to make this thing look awesome:

^Nice, cpl_crud.
Lots of intricate work involved when building one of those. O_O I would like to give it a go sometime myself.
I've always wondered how the fishnet stockings worked on Haruhi and now I know.
Didn't look too easy to make them.
Those are good photos of the raw pieces, e-e.
very nice. I thought I would buy a resin model but after seeing that (and remembering how much I suck at painting) I think I'd give this a skip and stick to normal figurines. I also saw they did an Excel resin model a while ago
i dug up a smart way to do the stockings:

That's the best looking Yuki statue I've seen. Know the release date?
not yet its just the inital publisisty pics, they'll be at the next couple of expo's then 2 months on the re-casts will come out, id say about May
Being the music enthusiast that I am, that Yuki figure would be a very welcome edition to my bookshelf, or even next to the stereo.
Her signature witch outfit combined with the embracing of her guitar is just too awesome.
And heck, Shamisen is included too.
I believe the next wonderfest is at teh end of thins month, sow we might start seeing castings and resins ready for preorder as early as March.
But, as E-E said, it'll prolly be May before we get he kits in our homes. amybe mid-late april if there's a big enough demand
I found this while checking on the ASOS Brigade MySpace promo site (Haruhi figures were being advertised there with Mikuru being the present star attraction).
http://www.hobbylife-tv.jp/newswatch/070122news.html
Some hobbyists may appreciate these detailed videos of new figure releases from GoodSmile Company, distributor of high quality figures and other anime/manga merchandise. While knowing some japanese would be an asset to view, a picture is worth a thousand words.
And a video could be worth more again.
(Note that the videos can take a while to load.)

Awesome.
I appreciate the scans too.
I'm sure it won't be a walk-in-the-park to detail and assemble. O_O
This is really making me want to buy some airbrushes to try something like this out in the future. The price on such a kit would need to be reasonable though since I'd be scared to death on accidentally destroying it in the build. ^^;;
www.e2046.com i go there for everything models, paints and tools. picked up the airbrush and compressor off Ebay.

3.somethign else, lol.

The only way to learn is by doing, so don't sweat it, e-e.
It seems that the paint either went on too thick or else it needed to be filtered out first? Maybe both?
I think that your airbrush should be able to do the job. Just experiment with getting the paint at the correct consistancy to spray easily with. And use very light dust coats.
Good luck! ^_^

There's two way that I use to prime my resins.
Firstly (the "common" way) is to use Mr Surfacer 1000, then cover that with Mr White Base. If you're goign to AB the primer, then thin it to about 40%, put about 40-50 pounds of air behind it (if your AB can take it), and go full air with only a little flow (if you've got a dual action), from about 20-30 cm. I find that when I'm doing things like this (be it colour or primer) that it's good to hold the AB behind your ear. That way you can keep a close eye on the flowrate etc at the figure end.
The second is to use a primer spray, like Tamaya's Fine Surface Primer (Plastic/Metal). I use this most of the time, as you can get primers that are also white undercoat, which makes life easier. I like the Tamaya becuase it also has a nice finish for using clear/semi-clear flesh tones on.
Although the primer you've got in this post doesn't seem too bad.
I'm not sure where you are with this fig (been away for a week or so), I'm willing to help you out if you want. Also, make sure you have some pearlescent particles for the hotpants... she definately needs it :>
I have a few kits with pesudo step-by-step details on the windfs site; http://www.windfs.com/forums/index.php?showforum=23
That might help you a bit.
You should also try "spiking" (or pinning) your resins, it makes them much easier to handle and also helps in assembly.
worked it out, Mr surface is ment to be sanded down to create a perfect surface. So im stripping that off and using Mr base white 1000 instead working a lot better.

What you have to ask yourself is if it's worth it to buy a complete new set just to get the display stands. IMO, I don't think I would without first trying out some clever ingenuity.
One idea might be to buy a length of small gauge, solid copper wire (maybe aluminum wire). This could be cut, bent and shaped similar to the original stands to make them stand up again.
Do this in such a way as to not make them look like they're being attacked by tentacle monsters!
I really think this would work though. Might even be better than the originals. Visit a local hardware store to find something suitable.

well have been adding to my collection and bought jet from cowboy bebop but thats about it.
on the Excel front I might do that Lord il with the wires (seems cheaper and less damaging then the other methods)
Just get yoursef a pin-vice, some copper "wire" (16 guage seems to eb strong enough) and give it some pinning love.

Should I post my pictures of my Kon plushie here?
I took pictures of him in dresses! <3

This thread is as close as any to post those pics though. Go for it, PinkBunny.

But I put him in dressies because I love him! <3

Quote from: "starcat"I picked up the Excel Saga figure set (woo!)
Awesome! Long overdue I'm sure. ^^
I've browsed through a lot of different mini figures and I'll have to say that the Excel Saga set is probably one of the better ones for detail considering their size.
Quote from: "starcat"an Angol Moa figurine from Keroro Gunso (I was afraid I'd get Creepy Grown-up Swimsuit Natsumi and look like a perv. Angol Moa's just cute!)
Nice!
lol! That reminds me of something: I know a gal who once had a dilemma as to whether or not to buy a certain figure she liked because she was afraid of being labled as a perv (among other things ^^; ). It was something from the Mon-sieur Bome collection(sp?). Anyone who has ever seen these before knows how detailed, sexy and nosebleed-inducing some of these figures are. I told her to get it anyways and not be concerned. She's pleased that she did.
Edit: Here's the official site of Mon-sieur Bome for anyone interested.. (http://www.monsieurbome.com/)
Lots of eye candy! :P
I have three of the Bome figures (Aya Natsume, Maya Natsume, and Ignis) and I plan on getting the Kiddy Grade and Full Metal Panic ones sometime soon.
Bome = Great
 must get hold of Kaname and Tessa. I will do almost anything for those models. isn't there ones of kaname and tessa in bikinis?
Quote from: "HA1L ILPALLAZZO" must get hold of Kaname and Tessa. I will do almost anything for those models. isn't there ones of kaname and tessa in bikinis?
Skimming over a few sites and some ebay listings, I did manage to find a few, but the quality was very poor; Bad faces and overall cheap looking. But the worst I've seen was Tessa and Kaname with bath towels.. *shudders* They look exactly like mini mannequines with the joints stuck together. >_O Ick!
Don't take my word for it. See for yourself.
The ones on Bome's site, I believe, are truly superior and are all now currently available on ebay.

The ES figures are very well-detailed, as is the Ropponmatsu II. (I saw two of the gold ones there, too...but ergh, the white's translucent. Besides, I've already got a blue one.) Quite a good buy. $30 for the set -- same as I was going to pay online and no shipping! :D
Whaa... shipping issues is the main reason i'm not getting one yet...
Unless i find it exceptionally cheap :o
^Be sure not to wait too long, Micki! Little by little, availability is decreasing and the prices seem to be going up.
It's just hard to find ANYWHERE to buy it from...
Especially because i live in Europe... Anything from the US is bound to have sky-high shipping prices...
There's one on a Danish Manga-merchandise Website though (i requested it there to teh guy who runs the place, because it's so cool)
Maybe, if the price is similar to anywhere else in comparison (except for that evil shipping) i might buy it...
I need a Ropponmatsu figurine... It's too awesome not to have
Wish there were one with Shioji, to make it Complete :D
[EDIT:]
Danish Website i takled about... and this is the page with the available Excel Saga stuff they have...

400DKK is about 72-73 US Dollars (it's the blue one i'm refering to)
^I'll see if I can help you out.
hmm.. The best price I've seen on ebay today for the complete set of six mini figures is $29.99 US.
Shipping is $20 US...
Total = 49.99 US or 274.140 DKK which is not tooo bad...
Nishiki Ropponmatsu Excel Saga PVC Figure (Blue)
$19.99 US. (That price amazed me!)
Shipping is $16.99 US
Shipping insurance 1.00
Total = 37.98 or 208.268 DKK
These sellers do ship to Denmark and the shipping prices quoted reflect that. ^^
Wow... that's pretty much half the price
Can you link me to both of those..?
I might get one of either (or all)
This is for Ropponmatsu... (http://cgi.ebay.com/Nishiki-Ropponmatsu-Excel-Saga-PVC-Figure-Statue-US_W0QQitemZ330000269973QQihZ014QQcategoryZ1345QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)

The best thing to do is desensitize them to such things gradually by slowly increasing your collection. Eventually, it'll get to the point where they won't bother to say much of anything. :evilex:
I do have to wonder how my ex-girlfriend would react about the small collection I have happening now. I've a feeling she'd try to steal 'em big time.. NEVAH~!!!! MINE!!!11!
Well, no matter what, i really need it...
That, an Alien Figurine...
And that DAMN RARE Porcelain Statue of Duke Nukem... So hard to find :(
So, i ordered that Nishiki figure today...
I looked through eBay, and found several other similar versions afterwards... some even cheaper...
but are they perhaps different in some way..?
I noticed this thingy the figure is standing on, differs on several pictures i've seen of it...
The one i ordered (Lord Il's link) had this round "foot"... others had a triangle shaped one instead...
I don't know...
Was this a good choice..? or should i have picked one of the others..? :? (dunno if it's too late anyways)
You found cheaper listings still? I'm floored. O_O
Then again, you've gotten a pretty good deal on that one just the same.
I wouldn't worry too much. Sometimes only early preliminary photos are used which can be deceiving as to what you'll get.
Here's the base they have her displayed on at the actual Yamato Toys website...
http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=836
Does it look familiar with that ebay listing's photo?
If you'll notice on the same site, Ropponmatsu (white with gold/silver) is shown standing on the plastic triangular base.
... And on Rikdo's site, she's shown standing on the plastic blue triangular base...
http://www.rikudoukan.com/2th.html
I've a feeling that you'll receive the plastic blue base. I can't say for certain either. :?
Also, the link I showed you with the set of six Excel Saga figures are shown with different bases as well - They all appear to be free standing. However, this is not the case. They're only displayed that way to possibly enhance their appearance. When you do eventually get them, they will come with cheaper semi-clear plastic bases and plastic rods which you attach to the figures to make them stand up.
Something else about the rounded brown base Ropponmatsu is shown with: When I ordered my Saber figure last year, she was also shown standing on a base which looks identical to that one. Instead, the base which is used for the end product is a simple black plastic base. The important thing is that Saber is precisely the same!
So yeah, I do wish that the photos used for advertising figures were updated accordingly to reflect the end product more. It would make things far less confusing for the consumer.
Thanks for telling...
Well, the lowest price i found, was just 5$ diference i believe...
i don't care, at least it was still cheap...
And it's good all should be identical... This base, has this amusing Shiojis note on it... i'd like to have that :D and the brown one didn't seem to have it
I'll post pictures of it when it arrives :)
Quote from: "starcat"The base I have is triangular, and she likes to fall down a lot. 9_9 (My Mimete plush keychain fell off my speaker as I typed that...weird coincidence, eh?)
I remember once writing something about my ES mini figure set when I first got them and Hyatt somehow managed to fall out of her stand and onto the floor. How strangely appropriate that was. lol!
Ugh.. I've had two incidents with Saber falling off her stand. >_< I'm more careful now to hold both the figure and the base when having to move it or dust it off. Especially when using compressed air in a can for cleaning it (It works great!)
compressed air for dusting works great but I find a small modelling paintbrush works wonders aswell. it's small and if you use the lightest touch you won't knock models from the stands.
hey thats HA1Ls Top Tip :exhail:
^Excellent suggestion, HA1L. I find myself doing the same thing.
I have some good sable brushes which do an awesome job. I'm not using them for painting atm, so at least they're still getting used for something.
2 more HA1L top tips :exhail: from me
1. If you put Your models on something like say a rubber mat or a mouse pad then they won't be easily knocked off the shelf by say random pets or the unsupervised little cousin
and
2. DON'T EAT YELLOW SNOW

Looks absolutely incredible, Micki! You got the nicer base too like I knew you would.
Congrats on getting such a good deal. ^^
Thanks for looking for a place for me to get it... 8)
It certainly was a good deal... and it's in a perfect condition... only the box is a little bend and half damaged... but that's absolutely nothing serious...
Naturally, i'll be keeping the box as well...
Man, it really looks so damn good, and extremely detailed... so much cooler in real-life
that looks very nice XD
Those are some great pics, starcat. Nice collection you have going. ^^
Also, I'll keep an eye out for you on that Yomiko Readman. What's your price range? Maybe I can find a deal.
____
About a week ago, I received two new additions to my small collection (literally small since nearly most of my stuff is tiny gashapon ^^; ). I'm extremely pleased with both figures.
Pics with descriptions to come soon!
So now there's a great looking new Yomiko coming out?
As if my bank account wasn't dwindling enough -_-
I really have wanted to get some good figurines, but between all the crap I already have in my room/office - bed, corner computer desk, unreasonably large and very old TV (but still good dammit!), Electronics stand, wall shelf with numerous plastic army men, tanks, and such fighting it out, about a dozen medieval weapons on racks/stands/mounts, etc, and my calendar of stupid Bush quotes, it'd be hard to put em anywhere.
Damn it, need to add more shelves. Can't build out so I'm gonna have to make like Tokyo and build up.
@starcat: This is currently the cheaper of the listings on ebay for Yomiko at $32.99, but I personally think the shipping price of 25 bucks is a bit too much... Clicky.. (http://cgi.ebay.com/R-O-D-the-TV-Yomiko-Readman-Girl-Figure-ROD-Read-or-die_W0QQitemZ330119920465QQihZ014QQcategoryZ1345QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem)
I'll keep checking..
Well, I've been on a Tsukihime kick lately and saw a fantastic Arcueid Brunestud gasphapon type figure on ebay which I couldn't possibly refuse to get. The price was just wayyy too good! It came in the mail today and I got it together a few minutes ago. I'm very pleased with it. ^^
This is part of the Type-moon collection by Alter.

i wish i had a pic but i have alot of final fantasy and street fighter toys. and i am looking to get the excel sage ones. But i am buying the lunch bow first
I have the Cowboy Bebop and Excel Saga figures.

Lucky Star merchandise is now becoming more available. Some stuff is bit pricey though...
This Konata figure pictured above has been seen on ebay for $50 US - but it's.... so tiny! O_O
I swear when I get the laziness outta my system, I'll post some new pics. I have a few new scores arriving too around the beginning of April.
I only have four anime figures and to be honest, I cant be asked to picture them, here they are Excel, with menchi in a frying pan, Rei and aska (pinky version) and Ken-oh or rather raol from FOTNS, on his little norris. Though I do have a few transformers but thats not really anime in this respect I willl name any way
Galvatron (takara reissue), Soundwave (mp3 player), ape face (g1 original), bruticus (g1 original and complete), sky warp (takara reissue), blitzwing (takara reissue), starscream, ramjet, devastator (mini-con version) and swindle (special vechle issue).
My collection is tiny compared to everyone elses but I am picky to what I like. Lucky Star figurines on the way XD
I do also collect starwars figures and lego in terms of the empire and bounty hunters, unfortunately I have lost the interest in collecting it at the moment, maybe when buying the ps3 is out of the way I can consider buying more collectables
Just ordered the full set of Rozen Maiden keychains.....should have them sometime within the next fortnight.
Adults and their dollies, but then again I can't say much, did happen to by myself a cuddley servbot (misadventures of tron bonnne) with a manic expression on its face, so cute
Got the keychains and ordered a Revoltech Revy figure from the series Black Lagoon.
Can't say I've ever been a fan of the revoltech figs. Most of the effort seems to go into hiding the joints rather than the build and so forth.
Resin all the way.
Except for maybe the CC I'm working on now. She's impossible.
Looking at pictures of it, it doesn't seem to expend much effort to hide the joints. Comparing that to what i am actually looking for (ie. a decent figure of Revy that affordable), it doesn't seem to be that bad and looks better in some instances than a solid PVC.
Personally im not into the whole aspect of which is better, just the overall presentation of the figure itself, if i can afford it and it looks good then im gonna get it somehow.
I recently bought my self the original ravage, sound waves cassette that turns into the pantha, worth the pennies for the condition it was in

I now have some very unique Lucky Star figures. (They're staring at me right now! OMG!!!) :il_hahaha: Never thought I'd ever get Lucky Star stuff, but this was difficult to say no to. Pics to come soon. (I know I keep saying I'll post new pics, but it'll happen sooner or later.) ^^;;

Yeah, REVOLTECH's product isn't extremely bad for the price. Poseable figures are nice because they can offer lots of options for display. About the only thing that bothers me about them is the look of the joints. This especially holds true for the knees and ankles of human characters.... it just looks.... freakish to me. However, I will say that REVOLTECH makes some of the nicest generation one Transformers figures I've seen.
Just recently, Max Factory came out with a new line of poseable figures - competing with the REVOLTECH line for everyone's hard-earned money, I'm sure - under the name Figma (http://www.figma.jp/). The Figma line of poseable figures is probably the most impressive I've seen in terms of presentation and poseability. Detail is very nice from what I've seen. They all seem to come with a special stand that can be attached to the upper torso of the figure. This can allow the figure to have good dramatic poses... like making it literally leap up off the ground.
Just like REVOLTECH, the Figma line has different faces included for different expressions, hands, and weapons or etc. Yes, the freakish-ugly (IMO!) arm and leg joints are there too, but if anyone wants a figure with good poseability with great detail for a reasonable price, this could be the way to go. (Sorry, they don't have a Revy yet, Necrominion.) :e_wink:
I've recently been comparing Fate/stay night's Saber from both REVOLTECH and Figma. Figma's looks best and might be the one I'll get should I decide to get it. hmm...

I knew someone who had that a long time ago. Problem was it was used so much it was worn out and impossible to make it stand up. Needless to say he never looked after his stuff. >_<
Though ravages legs are a litte bit wobbly, and I came to the coonclusion that the mp3 soundwave I bought was a waste of cash as I have a better mp3 player
I'm really sad that I cannot find a Rika Furude figure. Only one I have ever seen is one in a set of five and I can't even find that anywhere.
QuoteJust ordered the full set of Rozen Maiden keychains.....should have them sometime within the next fortnight.
Awesome. I've been meaning to get those for ages :P
Got the Revy Revoltech figure, and spent hours playing with the thing before i finally decided to put it into a pose i wated it in. Went with the cliche jumping from the side with two revolvers outstretched in front Tomb Raider-esque pose.
Also the Rozen Maiden Keychains have now seen the majority of the surrounding area whiere i live and have currently protected my keys from being left in my pockets and gobbled up by the washing machine...
Quote from: exckilla on April 02, 2008, 12:21:59 PMI came to the coonclusion that the mp3 soundwave I bought was a waste of cash as I have a better mp3 player
Until now, I never realized there was an mp3 player of Soundwave available. It was a great idea to bring him up to date like this.
But I do agree that a regular mp3 player is actually better in functionality. I would only buy the mp3 Soundwave purely for the nostalgia factor of G1 Transformers.

heh.. I need to get something like that. I've only a boring ol' key ring with a small Mag-Lite flashlight on it. Yeah... I'm boring.
My mp3 soundwave, lives with rest of my cllectables
My Roppenmatsu Nishiki came through the post last week and forgot to mention it. Got it off of tmpanime.com for $16.99. Quite asteal i think.
I got the REvoltech Yotsuba&! today. It's my first anime figure other than my Kon plushie. I'm still messing around with her poses.

Yeah, I try to avoid sellers (if I can help it) who insist on only shipping by EMS (Express Mail Service). It's very fast, but sometimes it's just too insanely expensive - It can put the cost of an otherwise reasonably priced figure through the roof.
__________
Just got this yesterday. She's not even out of the box yet (probably to protect my other figures from any harm :e_wink:). It was a pre-order which got delayed for a few months. Perhaps the most wicked version of dark Saber I've ever seen..

Those eyes stare right through your soul.....
lol! I know! You can't tell from the photos, but what makes those eyes look even more menacing is the shine they tend to give off in the light. I don't believe they're just simply painted on, but maybe they're plastic inserts. Not sure. But another possibilty could be that the eyes had a high gloss clear coat painted on them for a realistic shine. I'll have a better chance figuring this out once I get her out of the box (Yes, she's still in the box looking really pissed. :il_hahaha: )
Regardless, I've never seen a figure to have such shiny eyes. Freaky. :e_shocked:
She has an optional extra head where an eyeshield covers her eyes - I may use this a lot more if the eyes creep me out too much. heh..
Might be for the best in my opinion

My cousin used to have just about all of the originals. When he told me he threw most of them out because he felt he had "outgrown them", I just shook my head in disgust. What a waste. >_<

Okay, since I've still been too lazy to take photos yet (I really will though at some point!)..
As I mentioned some time earlier, I got some very interesting chibi-style Lucky Star figures:
Konata and Kagami cosplaying as Saber and Rin respectively from Fate/stay night. Being the Fate/stay night fan I am, and the fact this was so unique, it was far too difficult to turn a blind eye to..
http://www.goodsmile.info/wf/wh7/wf_gsc_01.html
This is supposed to be a Winter Wonder Fest '08 exclusive and they've been appearing on eBay quite a bit with insanely high prices attached to 'em. :e_shocked:
Good Smile Company never fails to amaze me at how well they package their products. As small as these figures are (their Nendoroid line of figures), lots of care is taken to ensure painted surfaces are protected from any scratches in transport - Tiny individual, clear plastic sleeves were actually used to protect Kagami's pigtails... seriously!
Where do you get the money to afford these things :e_shocked: :hshocked:
I'm a shark who swims the sometimes icy waters of the eBay in search of fresh, (cheap!) meat. :e_pleased:
I'll tell ya, it has a lot to do with having a lot of luck. Some people will start their auctions at low prices assuming they'll eventually do really well. But if by chance their auctions aren't seen by the right people, the price may keep relatively low - good news for the auction winner :e_love:, not quite so great for the seller.
At AniméNext, I bought the BOME Vol. 9 Eclair & Lumiere, from Kiddy Grade and the Revoltech Yotsuba. I put Eclair & Lumiere on a shelf, right next to my Ozzy Osbourne 'Bark At The Moon' statue. Somehow, they look good together. Right now, Yotsuba is holding her water gun in the same pose as my Spider Jerusalem is, holding his Bowel-disruptor gun (yes, it is a gun that makes you shit). If I can, I'll take pictures.
I've also been buying more Gundams lately: a Master Grade F91 GundamF91 E.F.S.F. Mass-productive Attack Use Mobile Suit, from some unknown Gundam manga, I think. It looks like this: http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?11071103396014 (http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?11071103396014)
I also bought 3 HG versions of the Zaku Warrior from Gundam Seed Destiny. The Original, the Lunamaria Hawke Gunner Custom, and the oh-so-girly Live Concert Version. I haven't actually seen the show, yet... I just thought they were cool.
There was a comic convention recently, and I bought the BOME Vol. 12 Kaname and Tessa, from Full Metal Panic. I decided not to buy them when I went to AnimeNext, and I just couldn't pass it up this time.
E^D
Anime toys I recently bought myself, Model of evangelion unit 2, kagami from luckystar and tsyuru from The melancholy of suzumiya haruhi
There's a new Yotsuba&! Revoltech figure but I'm poor. T-T I might just pre-order it anyway.

Join the club, I wanted the haruhi 1/8 figure could'nt afford £60 at the moment though
Bought myself another addition to my collection, but not anime, starwars again this time an imperial tie fighter
Bought myself a mikuru figure (no haruhi's) bummer), A stormtrooper commander (with force unleashed for psp) and the a cobra grenadier and destro (comic pack), (running out of space) ouch.
A good Norwegian friend of mine, sent me a gift for this christmas recently, he told me to open it when i got it...
He got my ALL the 6 trading figures of Excel Saga :D Awesome present, the present i sent to him seems a bit dull now in comparison, haha...
Great though, i assembled all of them, and now i just need a good place to put them
Can't believe he got me these, they're great... I never managed to find them for a good price online myself :o
I'm not that much into figures, i am however a great fan of Excel Saga, so this fits just perfectly to my collection :D

You'll probably find that Excel manages to stand by herself pretty good. She's the only one I don't use with the included stand.

hmm.. Well it's possible but for that price I'd be willing to bet they were bootlegs. Licensed figures just don't go that cheap.
Which con? Would that be Wai-con? Just curious.
Those FREEing Haruhi bunnies are huge (1/4 scale), and expensive ($100+ US).
$5 sounds like it would be pretty small. Like a trading figure or Gashapon sized would make sense. Anything larger, I would suspect a bootleg.
E^D
3 - 4 inch i think, at supernova, an australian pop culture 'con. surprisingly unpopular though for a haruhi figurine which was not a chibi version.
Hey, i bought a tenjo-tenge? figurine, but it's bronze and was supposed to be in colour. What do i do with it. Plus, it looks kinda cool i must say, wish i bought more than one.
Im okay with painting (is an artist) but what kind of paint do you use?
Finally got a Gi Jpe baroness figure after much hunting in my nearest forbidden planey
It's not anime or manga, but...

since when has the TARDIS not had walls? lol
^ thats just the innards toy of the tardis, last thing I added to my collection of sort of anime shit GI Joe dvd battle pack including Dusty, Serpentor, Cobra B.A.T. and montezuma and Rise Serpentor Rise dvd (this version is much better than the uk one I bought)

I just noticed K-9! It's so cute! :eheart:
The two doctors would have to battle over Rose, though. How's a girl to decide between two perfectly sculpted (albeit plastic and likely gender-neutral ala Ken) guys who are actually the same person? Haha, love it.
Now all it needs is a creepy angel ornament lingering outside to complete it. :il_hahaha:

I cost a little under $100 for both the TARDIS and the figures. (They aren't pictured, but I also got a Dalek, two Cybermen, an Ood, a French Clockwork robot, Tosh, and Captain John)

Oddly enough no angel...yet.
I didn;t go much on the new doctor who and I tend to only collect gi joe figures, star wars lego and otherwise, and random anime female characters, I also have 3 video game based characters
Figma Rider pre-ordered.. (http://www.goodsmile.info/product/en/2803/figma+Rider.html)
Haven't bought a figure in quite some time. Either most don't interest me, or prices are ridiculous on the ones I do like. Some online stores were offering up to a 20% pre-order discount on this figma Rider last week..... Upon which the pre-orders were sold out in less than a day! X_x Rider could be one of the hottest sellers in the figma line.
Generally I'm not a fan of poseable figures because of the obvious-looking joints. However, I feel the figma line does one of the better jobs at concealing them. I also feel they do fantastic work in recreating the likeness of the characters.
So, if you're a Fate/stay night fan, or if you just enjoy the works of TYPE-MOON (or if you just think that Rider iz teh Xtreme sexIness personified!) this might be one for you to pick up!!! ^^
Status: Pre-order
At this point, ebay could be your only hope.
Be mindful as listings range greatly in price.
Tenatative release date: May 2010
"Sooo... tell me, Lord Il, why do you believe Figma are the best in poseable figures?"
Glad you asked, voices inside my head! :e_tongue:
A few weeks ago I was at my fav comic book shop and was able to compare figma, Revoltech, and Mobip poseable figures..
Mobip - Simply put, I don't like Mobip as the designs are not faithful enough to their 2D counterparts - if the detail is not there, I don't want it. HOWEVER, if you're a budget-minded collector, I won't discriminate your choice because Mobip figures are cheaper to buy. If Mobip wants to get considerable sales away from figma, they need to work on detailing. Particularly the faces.
Revoltech - Very innovative joint system; All joints move with a 'ratcheting' action for precise movement. Likeness of characters isn't so bad. But I will have to say that the Revoltech system is much better suited for mechs/robot characters (which they do make) than human characters. This is mainly due to their smaller size and sometimes more exposed joint system (although they are getting better at concealing them on later designs).
figma - Best poseable joint concealment. Best character likeness from their 2D counterparts. Possibly the largest poseable figures made among these three names. The very fact that every figma figure comes with a Zip-lock style bag to hold extra parts... I mean.... geeeze.. I could easily grab a sandwich bag from the kitchen for this purpose... BUT they include this! Holy sh- :il_hahaha:
But seriously, figma is awesome in anime designs.
Yeah, i've been looking forward to getting the Higurashi Kagome figma, looks even better than prepainted figures.
I've had my ey, on a 1998 Cloud strife and Hardy Daytona statue, not the action figure. Mostly because I love his crazy hair and biiiig sword, but I must have the 1998 version because the motorcycle is bronze, instead of a dark gray colour. It just looks so cool! But they're expensive. Oh are they expensive. $200 for the figure and $120+ for shipping to Australia. Must find cheap one...
i love figures, but i'm too reluctant to spend over 70 dollars for a highly detailed one. i do own some nice moderatly priced ones that are right above my desk. I currently own *pictures will be taken as soon as i find my damn camera*:
-The Yamato set of the six main excelsaga women
-The Yamato Nishiki figure (self explanitory)
-A Sega Haruhi figure
-The three girls from Read or Dream (Anita is the only one that has not needed maintenance ;_ ; )
-A set of small figures of the main girls from Higurashi
-A story image figure of Enishi from kenshin with his sword missing (f#@!$ing kids)
-Rin and Saber from fate/stay night
i had some smaller figures, but due to an unprecedented kid entrance into my room while i was away, a lot ended up unsalvageable
I'm worried about owning anymore figures in the future due to the threat of little brats, although that special edition nishiki is tempting...
^ You need anti-kiddy personnel mines. I had that problem long ago when my nan decided to give my cousins who were wee tiddlers my bloody transformers, original gen 1, I will just say apart from scorpinok (head missing) no survived.
Well, this is actually a newer problem. I was living with my grandmother for the past 4 years due to personal issues and we would barely have any visitors, and if we did have kids in the house they were very well behaved and stayed out of my room; but then my grandmother ended up being diagnosed with moderate alzheimers 3 months ago, and of course her family intervened and we ended up moving in with one of her grandsons. Now I'm meeting all sorts of family members that i never even knew i had, and of course that includes more younger members so it can be frustrating...especially when they're spoiled brats. My family won't even let me put a lock on my room, so this makes it even more problematic. :icon_confused:
I don't have that problem now luckley, if was about 10 years ago or more then I would of had the bothersom problem of cousins destroying my collectables, especiall when I was the age of 15 staying down my aunties, coming home from school and finding out the 2 youngest ones thought my sega master system was a toaster.
Finally have figma Rider as of last weekend... And it only came out of the box just a few minutes ago. Maaan, I must be slacking!
But this figure is amazingly done considering how the hair was designed and built around the poseability of the body in mind. Heck, Rider's hair is insanely long and had to have posed an interesting challange for the designers.. What exactly do you do with all that hair?? :elconfused:
Answer: You design it to be a combo of both hard and soft PVC and put two large portions of hair on balljoints.
Hmm... I may get back to this later. I'm checking out what hands to use to hold weapons... and to pose this (somewhat) properly so she doesn't look like rigor mortis has set in. :il_hahaha: Hey, she's been in her plastic tomb for a while. Stuff happens. :e_tongue:
Bought myself the takara transformers decepticon tape gift set a nice little set with lazer beak, rumble and frenzy (they got the colours wrong in the cartoon) and some dinosaur cassette.
NOOOOOOOOOOoooo!
Rei - my mother killed her, dropped her on her head and sadly the work I need to do on her isn't worth the $20 I spent on her. My mother said she'd pay for it, but really, you can't pay for the hours of work I laboured. Rei was originally bought as a practise resin, but she truly is beautiful to me. But i'm okay with being a petulent child and just throw her away. Behold - my third kit, she has a thick paint look and if you looked at her closely, you'd see dark paint on her skin and dents and stuff, she's a monet, really.
Stuck her in the scanner too :/
(http://forums.mangafox.com/picture.php?albumid=25432&pictureid=167786)
She's supposed to be holding an umbrella in her hand.
My first kit was chibi love hina naru and kitsune and a tifa recast that actually had an ill-fitting piece that forced me to throw her away.
^Ouch! That's too bad, Randamo. I can understand your pain with having that happen. I put a lot of effort into some car model kits which had a few accidents too. They're never quite the same once something happens to them.
I finished another figure. An old plastic figure of Aereis I won for $1 on eBay. I'm never doing a plastic figure again, resins for me. The base flips up at the end, which is annoying.

What's impressing me the most is that it seems to have actual guitar strings in the pics. Wow...
Guitar strings are overlooked a lot on figure designs. I think this indicates manufacturers being lazy or simply cutting corners to keep the price lower.
Yeah, I'm very impressed by that guitar for sure.
yea i was surprised too. the sega haruhi figure i have has her gibson, but no strings. then again it was a 25 dollar figure (still pretty good quality for the price). Azunyan is actually the first figure i've bought by alter. i'm really impressed by their quality (aside from the pegs). i'm actually considering ordering the hitagi senjougahara figure because of this (no more pre orders atm ;_;) http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10117309 (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10117309)
^I've had my eye on that one as well. It's one of the most unique I've seen. All that stationary really looks like it's suspended in the air. Visually stunning.
Dusting it off might be a nightmare though. :il_hahaha:
As for Alter, I believe I have at least one figure by them, Ignis. The details it has far surpassed my expectations. My only disappointment is that the figure seems to now lean forward too much, but I blame myself by placing it on my old CRT monitor... it gave off a lot of heat. >_>

I would have prefered a Nadeko Sengoku figure, but what the hell. I ? Bakemonogatari :elpleased:
I was bored one day and decided to paint a bronzed figure of Kanu from Ikkitousen which I bought at a con. It's been kept in a box for a year since it looked a little to volatile for my mom. But, whatever, i painted it. Again with the pictures!

It's small, no bigger that 10 cm. It looks better that the paited version, where she had a pink uniform.
^Kanu looks incredible! Good work with the painting, Randamo! Both her and Chouun Shiryuu are my fav characters from Ikkitousen. Very strong characters.
And Geeeze... I can't even imagine Kanu wearing pink. O_o It's just not her style. Doesn't even make the slightest bit o' sense.
Thanks! I really want the others in the set because they all make up a diagram, but ima gonna get a chouun resin someday!
And the original figure had a pale-skinned kanu in a white skirt, pink top and purple hair - horrible!

Again I've come to burden you with pictures of my modelling career (did your mind go somewhere else? mine did). Here's a proper E2046 model of Sailor Moon in her school uniform. It's a present for my brother. I hope the kids at his office like it (from a far distance, sticky fingers at bay). I tried enamel spray paint, which was a distaster, on her skirt, acrylics everywhere else sans the socks, hair and pink bag, which were done with oils.

Sorry for the bad quality pictures, i'm too lazy to take new ones. I don't like sailor moon that much, but that hair.... looks so cool!
I like it. A little too glossy, but it's good.
Oh, remember a couple of post ago about that Senjogahara figure and how I said that I wish that they would have made a Nadeko figure instead? Well, I guess the good smile company was passing by my house with some mind reader. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10125816
Yah, i know what you mean about the glossy. I used enamels because i thought spray paint would be quicker, but it doesn't look that great.
He liked it though, but when he unboxed it, the stomach and top disconnected. TCH! that bit was badly cast and barely fit. shoulds known. :lordilvryannoyed:

Ah, you got your Chou'un! Can you give us pics if possible?
Wait.... Is that Chou'un in your bottom pic with Kanu? (the pic is kinda small)
that there is kaouen myosai - the one with slicked back black hair and the magnatama earing. I haven't recieved Chouun yet but will show you when I do. As an X-mas gift to one of my nephews, I got him a figma Black Rock Shooter figure. It was so awesome I almost didn't want to part with it! A great bonus is the included Black Rock Shooter OVA dvd. The seller of this figma has been fantastic because they gave me a sweet deal on figma Dead Master. It was never my intention to get Dead Master, but when a good deal comes around, what can ya do? Almost a shame to have them both separated though. Maybe I should get my own BRS figma.. hmm.. :e_confused:
Anyways, Dead Master looks truly malevolent with that wicked looking scythe she wields. The scythe itself is a piece of art in its design.
For more details, see this link:

My thoughts on the Black Rock Shooter OVA:
;D
^Last year, the hype surrounding Black Rock Shooter was almost ridiculous. Many expected something much different and I felt the same way after first watching it. Couldn't help to wonder what I just saw and if it made any point at all. That was before watching it a second time and catching the things I missed previously and thinking "Oh yeah! I get it now!"
.. Well.. most of it. :il_hahaha: But I'm interested enough in seeing more. (I'll write up my own interpretation of BRS sometime.)
Wonderfestival is on boys and girls. Are any of you interested in that? Despite my decision to STOP BUYING more of these, they come up with such cool ones......

legalised copyright violation!
Twice a year, Japan legitamises fan-made or garage kits made of licenced characters for sale at Wonderfestival. As well, proper sculptors also preview future releases. That how it rolls, I think. If recasters get their filthy hand on these originals, they can reproduce hundreds more more sale.
I like it because you get to see some interesting stuff. I have my eye on a Kenshin Himura figure that'll be released soon. Looks like the anime version.

Yep, I like checking it out for anything unique. I was lucky to score two Winter Wonderfest exclusives from a couple years ago for relatively cheap prices. I think the bidders I was competing with on ebay were napping or something. O_o I'd never be THAT lucky again.
Really liking those Panty And Stocking figures! They'll be even nicer with a splash of color in the finished versions.

Got my figma Dead Master since last posting in this thread. She's just awesome! Deliciously awesome.. I don't know how else to descibe it. And while I don't have Black Rock Shooter herself, Dead Master still looks great as a stand alone.
However, >_>
<_<
the seller emailed me saying that figma Black Gold Saw was available for pre-ordering and.. well, stuff happened... Twist my rubber arm, why doncha?? Like sheeesh! Looks like I'll be getting that one as well. Damn it. :il_hahaha:

I really loved the look of the first black rock shooter, then the second was like "hmm, I like that pose... but I really like the other"and never ended up with one.
I'm not into the other versions. The other characters look too volatile for me.

bought myself the luckystar x street fighter pack in a manga toy shop in picadilly circus london
New figma on the way. I should be getting BRS2035 (aka: Black Rock Shooter: THE GAME) (http://www.goodsmile.info/product/en/3252/figma+BRS2035.html) either this month or January.. January would be more realistic due to the heavy holiday shipping schedules in December. I find myself liking figma posable figures more than ever as there's so much flexability in how they can be displayed.
The BRS2035 design is based on her look from the Black Rock Shooter PSP game. She looked badass before. Now she's badass in a different way.
Meanwhile.. my nephew has the figma Black Rock Shooter Beast (http://www.goodsmile.info/product/en/3263/BLK+Limited+Edition+figma+BRSB+Included.html) preordered for next month. Without a doubt it's a very unusual design which came about from a concept sketch by illustrator Huke, creator of BRS. To be accurate, this figma is a limited edition which comes as a bonus item from buying Huke's first published art book, 'BLK'. Can't wait to see this figma up close when he gets it!
Bought myself A Domo Monster figure and Metal Sonic
Been a while since I last talked about my resins to you all. Actually, *scratches head* I joined a forum connected to a figure store, so I've been mostly going there to talk figures.
But I finally got the Chouun I've always wanted. Here she is. I'll put her up again when I'm done.

^Nice! I'd like to get a Chouun figure sometime. She quickly became a favorite from Ikkitousen. I don't want something too perverted looking, though. The one in your photo is along the lines of what I'd like. Do keep us updated with your work!
-----------------
Well, it took a while but I got my BRS 2035 figma last weekend. Didn't get around to releasing her from her plastic and cardboard prison yet. :e_tongue:
But this future version of her has something interesting to note - Her scars appear to have been replaced with barcodes. O_o What I found funny about this is the lady I bought it from thought they were filmstrips. Well... I don't understand the new barcode look either, so... :il_hahaha:
I would also have to say that this Black Rock Shooter has a slight matured look to her face from the previous original figma release and has a better (IMO) refined design for that insanely large weapon, the Black Rock Cannon.
Oh, and she now has mechanical wing attachments. I saw some photos someplace where someone put Decepticon logo stickers on them. It actually looked kinda badass in a strange way, but.. considering BRS isn't supposed to be evil, it doesn't really work. lol!

Yes lol, there's some Excel figures at 1:10
(http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/283/20120209133206.jpg)
I got some doujinshi today, it's not something I normally buy but there were several the mangaka of Excel Saga had made I wanted to get so when I bought them I decided to purchase a few others just out of interest as well.
Oh goody! I've been curious about this for awhile... what is the difference between the green Daitenzin book and the other one you bought? The green one is the complete collection and the other one is only some of the chapters, right?
I'm not exactly sure, naturally I can't speak Japanese, but yes the green one is a larger book, which begins the same way as the other one, I'm not sure if it contains the entire story Rikdo wrote, or if there's more before or after what's in the green book though.
and I meant to say yes, the contents of the blue book are entirely shown at the beginning of the green book, and then it continues on.
Cool, thanks. :elhail:
I'm pretty sure there's more to the story than what is in the book, but you probably know better than I do.
I'll upload something for you.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPIt7YQncDY
Good shit man! Need to actually get me a copy of Daitenzin sometime. Also, dat background music. :im_nabeshin:
I probably should've held my phone the other way around, I forgot it would come out like that.
It might look like there's a lot of sex in it, and there is lol but there's a proper story going on too, I just can't read it sadly.
Yeah, if you cut out the sex scenes (which I personally don't care about), it's basically a "grittier" version of Excel Saga from the Daitenzin's POV.
I assume Rikdo drew more than what is within my magazine, I imagine it's nearly impossible to obtain though.
I also really want the Young King Ours with the final chapter, and also the final volume.
And any other specials he did.

Picked that up awhile back! $21 for a $7 magazine... totally worth it. :il_hahaha: Don't think you can get it anymore, though.
As for volume 27, have fun! (http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/product/detail/4203478) :elhail:
I know in theory I can buy it off a Japanese site, but Amazon try to rape you on postage, what's HMV like?
I wouldn't pay something which is obviously not the right price for it out of principal lol
and can you show pictures of how the YKO ending is different from the manga?
The shipping is fairly pricy if I recall... Not as bad as Amazon's, though.
I would post pictures for you, but unfortunately I do not have a scanner or good quality camera. (I also kind of don't want to look at it until volume 27 comes out in English... would prefer to not be spoiled). I'm sure someone else on this board has the magazine and can send some pics your way, though.
You mean you have it but haven't looked at it?
You'll be waiting 4 years for it to come out in English? lol
Oh, I've looked at it. But only the first, say, 20 pages. Can't bring myself to peek at the ending, lol.

Saw them. I have those as well. I always figured they were detailed nicely considering their size.
Also I'm jealous of the Saber Lily you have. It remains elusive from my grasp. It had a limited re-release last year and I missed out again. Prices on eBay are out of the question. :e_crying:
--------------------
My nephew got his Huke art book with the included Black Rock Shooter Beast figma a few weeks ago. As great as that figma is, the art book is stunning. So much so that I decided to get my own copy. I'm hoping it'll arrive this week and I'm praying I don't have to pay customs fees on it - it's a
very heavy package.
Okay, I picked up Huke's art book, BLK, and the included Black Rock Shooter Beast figma at the post office today. The best part? No duty charges! None!! Woooo!!
....
haha..! I said 'duty'. :e_tongue:
I'll give some more info about this later. Hopefully sooner, but probably later. ^^;;
One of the most godly stop-motion animators of Figmas I've ever seen. All his Figma reviews are fully animated.
Check out the MoonshineAnimations channel on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/MoonshineAnimations/featured) and prepare to be amazed!
Ah I didn't notice your post before.
Yeah the Saber Lilly figure is great, I got her from an online store on the re-release, eBay does try to scam you lol
You needa be quick in there ;) I actually really love the little Excel Saga figures too.

I am not worthy! :il_hahaha:
My mind is blown and my jaw has hit the floor.
... Yeah, I may've taken a stroke after seeing all that awesomeness. :e_tongue: Phenomenal collection! :e_shocked:
Haha Lord Il Palazzo bowing to me Duo, I enjoy that ; )
and yeah I just started getting figures over the past year, I got carried away and bought too many though, spent a load of money it got bad when I started using Mandarake.co.jp because they get loads of figures on there.
Trying to cut back now though, my room is full and I bought too many already lol
^You got that many over the course of about a year? Wooooow!
I approve of your choice of characters and quality. Too awesome! Thanks for sharing.
(I like the sword as well.)
Haha yeah, if you mean Frostmourne I got that a few years ago, it was a big purchase.
I don't even like WoW but I was a big Warcraft III fan so I went for it.

Whaa-hooo, what a collection..! :sumyembarassed:
lol I got a few extra yesterday that's why I posted the link again.
I'll have to take a thorough look through that collection, I only took a quick glance at it before my brain overloaded..! :il_hahaha:
lol well yeah, I've wasted a lot of money on it, I need to stop ordering things.

I'm forever amazed at Duomaxwe's collection. Wow...!
Ha thanks guys : p
I'm having some trouble getting one of my parcels for the first time too funnily enough, customs is holding it they got the tax they're trying to get me to pay wrong.
I think I'll need to send it back to Japan to send to me again, major nuisance but I hope it works out okay lol

It's always been one of my biggest fears that something like that would happen to me. I hope everything works out for you. =)
Ah I think it's okay, I just told them to send it back to Japan and I think they're going to send it back to me for free.
What's this? A post from Randamo? Aha, I've been busy these days.
Anyway, I came to give all you excel saga fans a link to an original Excel and Menci Kit [Hyatt not included. Damn, I would buy it if she were].
http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-900676.html (http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-900676.html)
I'm not interested because she's anime style. But if any of you have the spare funds, you can buy it and commission someone or build her yourself.
Ah that's cool, I'd be tempted to get here but I can't do garage kits.
That's not much of an issue if you don't mind paying someone else to build it for you. That kind of kit would cost about $200+ if you pay someone with talent or skill.
Of course... I have neither. Sigh.
Anyway, just an option.

Ah yes, I remember coming across some nice photos of this several years ago. We may've even had the pics linked here at some point. Considering the price, very disappointing that Hyatt isn't included. But is Hyatt still available?

I dunno... I'm seeing lots of potential with this. The photo shows their coloring in the simple anime style, but I would go the extra mile and do some shading/color variants where needed to make it all more of a manga style. And Hyatt's hair would most definitely be painted brown (I don't like the blue color anime variant at all).
If I was actually into painting stuff, I'd definitely go closer to a manga-style color scheme as well, brown haired Hyatt definitely beats blue hair...

If you tried, I bet you'd be pretty good at this. As indicated in your art work, you have a good eye for detail.

Ah, Saber, you tempt me once again. :il_hahaha: Gotta like that dynamic pose, though.
I saw this re-release go up on Amiami about two days ago (I check there more often than I should :icon_rolleyes:) and I'm wrestling with myself if I really want this or not. I have four Sabers already - the first run of the cLays release (one of the first few figures I ever bought of anything) (http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=HOB-FIG-2353A&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3DSaber%24pagemax%3D100%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D3), the zombie-like Saber Alter by Movic (Those eyes!) (http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIG-MOE-2373&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3DSaber%24pagemax%3D100%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D3), a casual clothes Figma (minus the winter campaign stuff) (http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIG-MOE-1562&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_agelimit%3D0%24s_seriestitle%3Dfigma%24pagemax%3D100%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D2), and a small gashapon of Saber released by Alter a while back. I guess if I really want it I'd best get my pre-order taken care of now. It's not going to last.
I remember you said you wanted it that's why I posted it.
You might as well ; )
If you can afford it just do it.
I was more interested in the Saber Lily. But I DO like this one as well.
hmm... Pre-orders still available..? *checks..* Yep, so far so good. Gotta make up my mind very soon. lol!
Go for it ;)

yay! I finished it!
That's preeeeetttyyy..!
Randamo! Oh my god..! That's incredible! Amazing!
How long did it take you from start to finish?
Any particular problems with the build, or was everything really good?
If there were problems, they're not noticeable..! I looks so flawless :D
hehe, wow, I didn't expect such a response. :e_pleased:
Umm, I started last year and almost finished her within 2-3 months but stopped and started around the end. I would spend a couple of hours every now and then in the week - very slow progress. I took pictures just yesterday.
She was very tiny with lots of pieces, 29 in total. She's not much bigger than 16cm. So she was tricky to put together. I had a bit of problems fitting the hands and the sword together. If you look closely in person it's obvious it's not a perfect fit there.
I've just started something new - Yowane Haku. A Vocaloid character. She's in Lord Il's avatar. :ehail:

I'll come round when I finish something!

At only 16cm, that would make it close to the size of a Figma. Definitely small. The pic is deceptive, though.. it looks bigger than that.
Quote from: Randamo on June 24, 2012, 07:13:08 PMI had a bit of problems fitting the hands and the sword together. If you look closely in person it's obvious it's not a perfect fit there.
That's a shame. Was this due to the parts being warped in some way?
I forgot to ask you earlier: What kind of paints do you use for the best results? Acrylics, oils? The paint work is just stunning. Lots of depth with the shading. I'm guessing you did some airbrush work on this, correct? It looks so good! I'm inspired to try building something at some point.
Quote from: Randamo on June 24, 2012, 07:13:08 PMI've just started something new - Yowane Haku. A Vocaloid character. She's in Lord Il's avatar. :ehail:
Yep, she's such a cute drunkard, isn't she? :il_hahaha:
I see she even has a bottle of saki included. Looks like maybe half the contents have been drank already.... uh-oh.. :e_tongue:
I've never understood how or when Haku's origins had her become so well known as being a drunkard. This may've been a personality trait created on early Miku Miku Dance vids which stuck with her through the years.
Can't wait to see Haku completed. Take your time and have fun with it.
The hands were hard because one hand had a thumb that needed to be attached and the sword may have been a little bent. It was just hard to make sure everything fit perfectly.
I used oil paints. That's part of the reason it took so long. All handpainted.
I'll bring Haku round soon hopefully.
Just arrived: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN975650

Wow that's cool as hell..!
It really is.
Looks like it has many points of articulation for posability.
It's very articulate, and the stand holds her up for action poses quite well. Also, the red box and meseta have stands to help make them look like they're floating as in PSO.
I can't believe I got 4 Excel Saga figures for just $5 on eBay. I thought they'd be bootlegs or something, but they seem fine to me. Though on some official photos they seem to have black stands? Well, whatever I still love them. Here is my collection now.
