Characters / The Owner

Just read Excel Saga 7 today and he's now without a doubt my favourite character. Also, after seeing that picture of him as a member of Across, I really wish he did turn out to be the 3rd member. What a world that would be.

Mein Gott in heaven, Ill, that lady is crazy. I have never in all my years seen anything on that scale!

But anyway. I dressed up for the first time in my life! I went to a party with a friend as Switzerland. Costume was a bit of a rush job, as it only took 30 minutes. My friend went as a decision. Someone else went as a country too and all in all, it was a great night. Lets hear what other people did yesterday!

Oh, and not a single trick or treater came to any houses on my road. Depressing.

Man, that's so impressive Micki... So much skill.... It sickens me....

That's what I love about the Xbox 360, I never have to worry if I can run the game I'm about to buy...
Yes you do. It's called RROD. ;)
He's got ya there, Wolfe. :e_tongue:

Ack, forgot about that. <touch wood>

Well, I don't have to worry about virus problems, or having to take my xbox apart to upgrade it every once in a while...

Anime / Re: What's the last anime you've seen?

I'm now up to episode 76 in Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Don't want to know how much of my time this show has eaten.... Also finished G.T.O. I just love that 80's/90's anime style. Hell, I love the 90's in general.

Oh, hooray for all the people watching FMP! It was the first anime I ever saw, so it has a special place in my cynical old heart. Now I just wish they'd greenlight another season, as it gets really good after this...

I was pleasantly surprised by the movie, as it really departed from the original; completely changing at least two characters personality's completely
hmm.. One of these characters wouldn't happen to be Holland Novak, would it? I don't know if I've ever seen a more irritating and abusive personality. In the series, the way he used to smack around Renton all the time got my blood boiling on more than one occasion. >_<

No, actually, I was thinking of two less important characters, but since I don't want to spoil anything I'll keep quiet. As for Holland, for some reason I loved him in the anime for the same reason everyone else seems to dislike him: smackin' some sense into that snot-nosed little whelp Renton.

Its like Bright times a thousand!  :il_hahaha:

Also, I love his voice actor's style. Talks like a man that one.

Anyway, yeah, they change it around so that Holland is definatly not a carbon copy of the T.V. series version. Motivations, relationships with the crew, etc. all very different. Dare I say it, he's a much more tragic figure...?

Hey hey, you watch your mouth! Gurren Lagann was 27 episodes, not 44, and it's being turned into 2 movies, not one!

Please don't understand me, I love Gurren Lagann to bits, as I can testify with the inordinate amounts of money I've spent on merchandise from the show. (Don't ask. :lordilvryannoyed:)

I just felt the first movie was very squashed together. Heard good things 'bout the second thought!

Those posion headcrabs! My god, the first time I heard one from afar, I had no idea what was going on. I thought something was up with Gordon, so when I found the thing I was so relieved; as it was down in the streets in Ravenholm, (the town you're trying to get out of) and since I was up on the roof, I thought I was fine. Then the thing rips off one of its own headcrabs and flings it up to me. Caught me completely off guard. I was flailing around with the mouse trying to kill the stupid thing.

As for pure terror, if anyone has ever played Resident Evil 4, they probably remember the sewers where you meet those giant insect plagas. (Were they even plagas? I forget.)Anyway, when you first enter the sewer area, you have to jump down into this long narrow trench filled with water. After you take a few steps forward, you hear this loud scuttling noise of something very large coming very fast towards you. I admit it, I screamed. The kicker is, nothing appears. You're just left standing there, and you don't fight any of them for another 2 minutes...

God, I hated that section.

Hey there everyone! I'm not sure if anyone ever had much interest in the original TV series, but what with it been shown in cinemas over in America last Friday, I was wondering if anyone got a chance to see it, and if they did <I know, a *big* if there>, perhaps they would care to share their thoughts.....

..... Don't all rush now.  :il_hahaha:

Apologies in advance for unabashedly stating my opinions, but I was pleasantly surprised by the movie, as it really departed from the original; completely changing at least two characters personality's completely, as well as many other plot points. It was kind of refreshing to see it change so much as opposed to other 44-episode-anime-series-condescended-into-a-2-hour-movies. <Cough> Gurren-Lagann <Cough>

Oh, and that ending song was beautiful against the credits, but that's probably me getting all sentimental...

I agree, Final Fantasy X has a special place for me because of the same reason-- it was my first. You never forget your first, ya know.

Glad you enjoyed it too Pamplemousse, despite the main character.

I forgot to mention Godhand, in which every cutscene is spectacularly funny. Though my favourite is this...
